Also, as is the case with a lot of his false statements, they are not merely lies they are also slanderous, libelous and defamatory, so I don't know why those who he is making those dishonest remarks about don't seek legal redress to counter them, as it would carry more weight if they were debunked in a court of law and he would also be held punitively accountable for them, as he was in in the E Jean Carroll case when $83m costs were awarded against him just for defamation, not the assault.

If his remarks are demonstrated to be both dishonest and injurious, as they could easily be if he is damaging the reputation and credibility of his opponents then I think those people should hold him to account. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. He should face consequences.
The standard for libel and defamation are a lot higher in the US than in the UK. Mostly due to the principle of freedom of speech.

Doublely true for political speech.

Elon Musk is about to find out about the different standards for libel and harassment around the world as the boxer Imane Khelif has filled suit with France's National Center for the Fight Against Online Hatred, naming Musk as a defendant.

Trump ‘might win, but he’s not a majority candidate’: Brit Hume

(click on MSN)

Fox News chief political analyst Brit Hume on Sunday argued that while former President Trump could win the November election, voters’ dislike of him makes him “not a majority candidate.”

When asked on “Fox News Sunday” why Trump is struggling to hold on to a lead over Vice President Harris in spite of polling showing most voters are displeased with the state of the country, Hume said, “Because he’s Trump.”

Good call Brit. It's interesting that Brit knows Trump is an asshole but will still vote for him knowing Trump is unpredictable and could put the US through almost anything.

Has he lost the "magic"? Is his shtick finally gotten old?

Those d@mn Democrats have AI’d the crowds out of his campaign rally and sucked the energy right out of the room - that’s the ‘war on energy’ right there - the Republicans have run flat out of it .

Gods country fortnightly
Biden has been a pretty decent President, but so glad he's going.

With him out the way it brings Trump's mental state more into focus, increasingly incoherent even by his standards, even Fox commentators are admitting he is talking jibberish. What would he be like in 3-4 years?

Then there's Vance, clearly the wrong running mate but very difficult to change this now. He's a liability
