Okay, worst result in decades, but does it matter? Not to me, no - it would be far more worrying if it was a regular occurrence, but it simply isn't.
The knee-jerk/wetting posts on here have me laughing, and there's no doubt that I needed a bit of cheer, after that.
All said and done, we're still doing 'reasonably' well...in the Prem, of all places.
Knock Chelsea out next week and the mood will be entirely different - quelle surprise.

No, it doesn't.

The first half wasn't a 3-0 - despite the crazy line-up - everything went for them and absolutely nothing went for us.

At the beginning of the second, we were the better side, couldn't find a goal and then got hit as we chased. Heads and morals dropped, and they took full advantage.

What hurts us is all the other points we've thrown away. If we've got 6-8 points more, we put it down as "one of those days", reflect we're well-placed and move on.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
Someone on BBC Sussex post-match made a point that nobody was calling for the manager's head after three wins in a row before last week.

Ultimately the biggest gripe people seem to have is that we're not going to get into Europe next season. Thus making this the same as 122 of the last 123 seasons.

It matters in that most of us could see playing 1 midfielder wasn't going to work out too well. You would hope that a Premier league manager might have seen the same unless there was something he knew that we didn't
Would have been great if he'd had many options available, but he didn't.
He went there with an intention to win - it just didn't work, this time.
Bothered? Me? Not at all.
If it was a regular thing, I may have second thoughts, but for now.....nope.

It depends on the context. Forest got beat 5-0 last week but I doubt their fans will be that angry, because in the context of their season they are doing fantastically. It was the same for me when we got thumped 5-1 2 seasons ago by Everton, we were playing well generally and having a great season so I didn’t care really. You wrote them off as just a bad day.

This season we aren’t playing well overall and so 7-0 matters more because it just seems like it’s not one bad day. We are just not that great this season and so results like this matter more because they aren’t one bad day but it’s the same play and issues as all the other games, just today Forest got the goals.

Some things did go for them but many things were our own doing. How do you leave a clinical striker and good header of the ball free at the back stick for example

How do you intend to win with a single midfielder and 25 attackers?

Our leader and head coach was slumped back in his seat from 2nil and hid in the dugout like a kid. We were poor during that first half against Ipswich and managed to beat a UTD team like every other side has. Individual quality won us those games NOT his coaching or management. Fortunately, we had a great start to the season otherwise we'd be in real shit. As soon as his coaching and tactics have taken hold, our performances and results nose dived. Our players look lost.
Bad results happen, off days happen, they did under Hughton, Potter and RDZ but at least we had a style/system. We have nothing under Fab that I can see. We haven't managed a solid 95 minute performance all season.

Anyone who thinks a 7-0 tonking is not going to do psychological damage to the manager and the club is an idiot. This result and performance proves Hurzeler is out of his depth.
