Didn't he once live in Bexhill?

He was definately stationed there though. Before he was kitted out with any weapons he threw half a brick at a low flying German plane coming over the coast.

He always wondered of the newspaper headline if he had hit.

MILLIGAN BRINGS DOWN LUFTWAFFE WITH HOUSEBRICK.

He's coming to the Brighton Centre for two days in November this year. Must get a ticket.

Eddie Izard is a bit like Ricky Gervais in one respect, they are a matter of personal taste.

Saw Eddie Izzard back in the mid-90s and he made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe and almost fell off my chair. Very very funny and influenced a huge number of stand-ups, none of whom have been able to carry off what he did to the standard he did it. Hope to see him in Brighton in November.

But not a genius, in my view.

Certainly not compared to our genius avatar, Mr Steven Wright. One of a kind.

I think he is fantastic and thoroughly deserving of the label legend for his influence, staying power and the range of work he has done.

I also don't think it's necessary to find him funny to believe he deserves the title 'genius'.

According to imdb he was born in Yemen.
In one of his stand up shows he talks about growing up in/near Eastbourne.

Spot on, they are comedic Marmite...you either love them or hate them, there is no middle ground.

Izzard is hilarious...Gervais is an annoying twat.

And there you have it, I've never found Izzard very funny but think Gervais is brilliant.

Izzard is Genius and is the comedic offspring of Milligan and Python in stand up form.
