Like Ricky Gervais, something of a matter of personal taste. I find him amusing but not my idea of a genius.

I agree with the fist bit but unlike you I don't even find them remotely funny. Holby City is funnier IMO.

Genius is probably a bit extreme but he is certainly a brilliant comic, humourist or raconteur.

My missus bought us two tickets to his Brighton show today. Now she is a genius....

He's a very funny, astute comedian - a one off.

Like Billy Connoly, he's going through a phase where he's trying out Hollywood and US TV (some of his stuff has been good - some hasn't) but when he's got that out of his system he'll proably return full time to stand up which is his true medium - he needs a live audience.

There is no comparison with Gervais - Izzard is way better.
