IMHO their best single was in fact "I need you". Used to love that one, in fact I still do!

When I bought their "The Definitive America" CD I expected to only recognise three or four of their songs, but surprise surprise I knew more than I realised.
The CD includes:
A horse with no name
I need you
Sandman
Ventura Highway
Don't cross the river
To each his own
Only in your heart
Muskrat Love
Rainbow song
She's gonna let you down
Tin man
Lonely people
Sister golden hair
Daisy jane
Woman tonight
Today's the day
Amber cascades
God of the sun
Political poachers
Survival
The last unicorn
You can do magic
The border

Not a bad one among them!

That was cynical wasn't it Icy Gull?

I NOTICE these things, and am WATCHING you. ???

:lolol:

No I'm being serious I actually like Horse with no name and Ventura Highway but they really are a bit of a one trick horse and all their songs sound irritatingly the same to me

The idea of watching a 30 minute concert would be quite appealing but a full hour and a half  :nono:

They weren't very good. Notice how nearly all of the album titles started with the letter 'H'. 'Hearts', 'Hideaway', 'Hat trick' etc. I had 'Hearts' & liked it. I saw them in concert the 1st time around & certainly wouldn't go again.

Was it the dry ice and strobe, or that aeroplane that crashes into the screen at the back of the stage, that you didn't care for?

Did they also sing "They shoot horses don't they?"

or was that someone else? I'm probably going off track with the horse reference in "Horse with no name"?

That was a group called 'Racing Cars'.

That's the chaps!

There was a film as well I recall. Based on marathon dancing in the US during the depression.
