Does anyone miss League Two?

It's strange I know, but how would you feel if we were the new Man City? Premier League champions, once, twice, thrice! Only way is down....

How long would it be before the real enjoyment begins to wain? You're expected to win every game, and when you do then no great shock. When you lose then it's a disaster! (I like Man City, but I'd hate to be a fan now).

I miss the days at Withdean, knocking 6 past Mansfield, waving brown envelopes at Chesterfield, jumpers for goalposts...every win was fantastic.

Why am I worried about too much success? Is it just me?

Its also important not to forget the great times we had at Withdean. However, it was very much a situation where we were riding on the crest of a wave as a result of ridding ourselves of Archer, and moving back to Brighton after our exile.

There were also some really depressing times out there...Especially toward the end of McGhees tenure and when Hinsh, Booker & White were in charge of the teams.

I hope that we never have to play league one or two football again. The quality compared to what we're seeing now is dreadful and trips to places like Carlisle, Darlington, Chesterfield and Grimsby are all hopefully long gone!

Just remember...Rain, no cover, no atmosphere!

I do empathize slightly as there were great memories and at Withdean, BHA felt like 'my team' and now I'm sharing it with lots of people... If that makes any sense?

In all fairness, when we were at Withdean, it wasn't that bad....We had some really good games there.

Get your point. I often greatly enjoyed both home and away games during the Withdean era, the football was shit, but for some reason it was almost enjoyable being so shit. As others have said, some of those small stadiums in league 1/2 have been the best away days of my supporting days for sure.

It's a fear that we'll somehow lose our authenticity with increasing success.

Whilst the Archer war years did somehow bring out a togetherness and 'Dunkirk spirit' across the Albion supporting spectrum, pretty much everyone was wishing that we weren't in a war in the first place.

The aftermath of Gillingham and rebuilding at Withdean just illustrated the lost years that the club had to suffer. Lost revenue, lost support base, lost opportunities to sign higher profile players, such a waste.

It's only now in the light of the Amex that we can properly see the shadow of a club we were for almost 15 years. Yes, we had some success at Withdean, but it was in spite of our circumstances, not because of them.

It's time to look forward.

I never want to see league 1 or 2 again but I would like us to stay league 1, 2 or championship fans. I hope we never forget and become cocky premier league fans, if or when we ever get there. I would be interested in peoples views on how they think Albion fans would change if we became a premier league club.

I think that for those of us who have followed the Albion for a long time will remain for the most part as you hope. It may be a trifle more difficult for newer fans though if all they've known is relative success.
