Does anyone miss League Two?

I do miss certain aspects of the League Two experience, but not really League Two itself. The bond with other fans, even of other clubs but especially your fellow Brighton supporters on away trips, is diluted the larger-scale things get. I also understand the feeling of a club that felt like it was a bit of a secret, with just a few of us in on it, which everybody now wants a part of.

Not grumbling about it - we need those new and returning fans. But there was something special in the loyalty of the support of a club finishing 91st in the league, twice, the second time with no ground.

And I like some of the grounds down there, and still go to Barnet occasionally if we're not playing.

So there were things to commend it, as a supporting experience. But would I prefer to be back there than where we are? Not on your nelly, squire.

Winning is fun, I don't think it matters what division you are in. I celebrated the 2-0 win over Peterborough to go top of the championship the same as the 1-0 win over Exeter in my last ever game at the Goldstone when we were 92nd in the League. They are the most extreme positions we have been in my BHA supporting life, and I celebrated them both the same.

I quite like League Two. I've always said the worst league to be in by some distance is League One.

Championship and above is great fun because I feel every game is more like an EVENT than just a football match. The crowds, the stadiums, the competitiveness, the quality - absolutely brilliant. League Two is enjoyable too because it's pretty much non-league and, as such, is quite personal and friendly with some very quaint little grounds in tiny towns. And on the pitch, virtually every match seems to be a bloodbath with sendings off and mass brawls, which is what we all want to see.

In the middle you have League One, which is the tedious option. The clubs are all respectable league clubs (apart from Crawley now obviously) but every single one is DULL. All the crowds are big enough to lose any sense of feeling that you can have an effect on what's going on on the pitch, but far too small to be excited about. The stadiums are poor, the players are generally shit but not really comical like in League, and nothing really stands out as being any better or worse than anything else. I'm glad we're rid of it.

I find myself agreeing with TCB a lot now, weird.

Good old nostalgia eh!

I would give my right testicle to go back in time and watch a match at the Goldstone, to stand in the north stand again and re-live that surge when we scored. But let's be honest - we all did nothing but moan about how sh1t the Withdean was from start to finish, while deep down somewhere we grateful that it was in Brighton at least. I think it was the dream of a new stadium that kept us all going.

I don't think it is you missing lg 2/spending £35k on a new signing/watching it from Withdean that is the problem. It sounds like you are so used of Brighton having no money that you are worried that they are going to become a club that you don't recognise and relate to anymore.

I have been saying for years that i would hate it if Brighton started to buy loads of foreign players for lots of money but we are not doing that - it would be so easy of Poyet to sign a load of big names on free transfers too and credit to him that he hasn't!

We are doing things properly, steadily, responsibly and professionally which is why we will continue to be a yoyo club - but a yoyo between the premiership and the championship rather than lg1 and lg2.

Arguably, where we should be!

We are not going to win the premier league, the FA Cup or enter Europe for years and years - if ever in our life time. And that is ok with me. I wouldn't want it any other way! We are a club that pretty much everyone likes and respects.

Great memories that will never be forgotten as it is a continious journey, but we are on a new journey now... forwards!

Doesn't mean that Fozzy, Nogan, Byrne, Codner and Wilkins will be forgotten just becauase we have Vicente, Bridge and Bruno!
