All Chelsea have done to us is make us better IMO. Once we have a full squad we are better than Chelsea. Who cares about Potts and co, Cucurella, Caceido are greedy twats and Sanchez is an average keeper. Bart will be better.
The proper Chelsea fans must laugh at some Brighton trying to manufacture a rilvary based on transfers., embarrassing.
Also we have 2 very good first team players from them for bargain transfer fees imo.

I would love to see Palace go down

I think part of me wants them in the same division but I also feel it's a bit unfair that in their periods of decline and financial mis-management they never dropped down the leagues. Almost all similar sized teams have dropped and had to rebuild but somehow they've not been in the third tier for almost 50 years.

I would love to see them go down, then, be promoted by finishing top, but, then forfeiting promotion due to some financial shenanigans, with Charlton taking their promotion place.

They then get promoted the following season, and beat Derby’s lowest ever points record, losing 6-0 to us , home and away.

Then, and only then they fall through the divisions.

I think constant years of being rubbish in 17th place would be a lot funnier, chances are if they went down they would just win a lot of games in the Champ and be less miserable

No. I enjoy the rivalry and there are clubs who've "cheated" FFP who should go first.

If the poll was 'who would you prefer to go down, Palace or Chelsea?', then I'd question anyone choosing Palace. Chelsea are scummy cheats paid for by Russian corruption, and supported by plastic wankers, and them being relegated would be something special. But since they're not getting relegated, I just ignore them and laugh when the opportunity arises (and I am grateful for how often that is). But I always look for Palace's results. They're our rivals and I always want them to lose. They too are a scummy club, but for quite different reasons. At least their fans (not the ones in black) are mostly proper fans.

I remember some time ago reading on one of their message boards that a lot of their fans were thinking of ditching the Brighton rivalry because we weren't good enough and there wasn't a real prospect of playing them in the same league much. Obviously, that's all changed in recent years since the Amex was built.
Having said that a Rangers v Celtic rivalry would be pretty boring if they were in different leagues, so games like the last one is enough reason for me to not be dissapointed if they stay up again this season.

I voted no, then changed it to yes. Where's the option for 'torn'? Obviously I do want them to go down because they deserve it but that leaves us without a 'rival'. My Jnr's are from the 'lost generation' (although their peers are catching up). I've spent years coaching them to dislike Palace, I can't change it now to Chelsea (ok I can, but I'd miss the rivalry)! I'd like them to 'just' miss relegation every year by one point to see them suffer, whilst we're always in the top half and beat them every single game. (y)
I'm changing it back to No.

I voted no, but I certainly wouldn't lose a second of sleep over it if they did go down.

What's the point of a rivalry if we hardly ever play them?

And sure, some people are suggesting Chelsea could be our next big rival, but while we are obviously pissed off at them, I'm not sure they care that much about us. It can't be a good rivalry if one of the parties doesn't really care all that much.

I'm really torn on this question. Most of my Albion supporting life we have been second fiddle to them, and I longed for the day we would sit a division (or more) above them, particularly during the Archer/Gillingham years. I was even disappointed when they didn't go properly bust in 2010 I hated them that much. But now, and after a game like Saturday, I think I would really miss a Premier League season without playing them. Its one of the few games we play that has some genuine spice, and I do fear that if they go it could be a long while before they find their way back. I actually feel more empathy toward many of their supporters than those at the "big" clubs and they seem like a good ally (to TB and PBOBE) in counter balancing some of the silly Prem rules/changes that the mega rich clubs would like to come in to further skew the competition. I actually think Id prefer a long period of whipping them season in season out as they just about cling onto Prem league status.
Forgot 'Don't Give A F***' option ?

NO! I want us to keep thrashing them next season / and the season after that until we are the only team left standing between them surviving or relegation- I want us to play them at home in the last match of the season - with 80 mins of tantalising passing the ball around at the back, standing on the ball and denying them any possession at all, then in the last 10 mins just as they thought a point would save them, get 5 quick fired shots in, sending them out of the PL with a resounding crash to the raucous rendition of GOSBTS and ‘You’re going down, you’re so shit!’ 😎
