Honestly the Championship for Palace would probably do them wonders for a season. Build a new squad, get a new manager in, be a marginally bigger fish in an increasingly mismatched pond…

Well, that is only if they manage to get promoted again. If they don't do that they’re pretty screwed. That new stand though would look pretty and almost certainly wouldn’t be shelved for another few years.

I dont think they’ll get relegated though, they’ll end up winning some random match and stay up, because they always do. I am partly convinced some black magic has been at play in Selhurst Park that has kept them going this long.

Sometimes it's the journey, not the destination.

Wouldn't it be better that they are in a relegation scrap every year, so that the fans are permanently sh***ing themselves?
Yes, that would be brilliant.

Think how much more they’d be shitting themselves as they faced relegation every season, and actually went down every season.

I’m solidly in the @hans kraay fan club camp on this one. Relegation every year forever would suit me just fine.

I want them down. One relegation isn't enough. One decade isn't enough.

As, for the "big six" argument, well, I want them down too.

Watching our u21s demolish L2 Palace in the EFL trophy would be hilarious.

Make it so, football gods! :lolol:

On the plus side (for Palace), they might finally get around to building that new stand if the requirement is a little more bijou for the expected L2 attendance?

A back-to-back double relegation a-la Sunderland a few years back would be absolutely joyous. Relegated to the Championship, among the favourites to come straight back up, but then relegated again. Crowds initially dwindling to 15k in the Championship, then dipping well below 10k as their plummet continues and they become accustomed to home defeats to Wycombe. Half their dilapidated ground closed down due to safety reasons like at Wolves a few years back.

I wouldn't need another Christmas, they'd all have come at once if that happened.

I'm not bothered either way, as there are pluses and minuses for me.

But it was funny that their two main fora were obsessed with us dropping when it looked feasible. I loved their thread where it looked like Potter might take us down in March 2020, ultra confidence from assorted idiots, later morphing into a ghost town of a thread. Prats.

My dream trio dropping would be Everton, Chelsea and Manure.

Yes, I want them relegated, but there's no chance they will be. Not this season anyway. Too many awful teams down there and the point deductions are going to save at least one dross team.

To be honest, it's just nice to be well clear of it all

no way would their attendances drop, everyone knows that they're the bestest fans in the whole wide world and have ALWAYS had full houses at Selhurst

should be a question Palace to get relagated or we win the Europa league
Is that a trick question?

Would I rather another few [winning] Albion adventures to get to the final, then a spring final on the lash in Dublin with 1000's of Albion, seeing my club win a major european trophy and watch Dunk and Bloom lift that iconic trophy in front of us fans.

Or would I prefer to sacrifice all that, just to know Palace will be playing against Bristol City next season?

Off with their heads. They need a dose of reality and humility. Many of their fans don’t have either.

I have no problem them being a lower half Champ club for the next 10 seasons or so.

And our only interactions we have would be the odd meeting in the cup - which would be humiliating for them - and we buy the odd exceptional academy player off then every 3/4 years.

They can then come back to the big show but as a very weak parochial club who yo-yo like Norwich and we have the extra pleasure of twice sending them down after 5-0 romps at the Amex in late March etc.

Mine's a No, reason being I'd rather they do go down but after three seasons of real struggle and either run out of money (again) or drift into League One territory
Surely that makes you a YES ???

Theyll again just fleece the mugs they have credit agreements with, and change name to CPFC2025

Crystal Palace are like Land of Leather, New Land of Leather, World of Leather, New World of Leather
