I think he'll be gone in the Summer, I think they'll want to see how he recovers from his hernia operation and plays for us before someone opens the cheque book. But let's not forget that SAFC's chairman authorised a shit ton of players for Di Canio, most of them were lower league players who'd never played in the PL before. Can you see him taking the same risk with Bridcutt, especially if we demand a heavy price tag?

He can't just walk out, he is under contract with the club so if he is going to leave, it will require a bid to come in for him that the clubs sees as good value for the player. I can't see him going for less than £3mil and without knowing a thing about Sunderland's finances, I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say they don't have the money.

He won't be going to Sunderland in January, unless its for SILLY, SILLY money.

Bloom said as much last night.

With respect, he's not going to say much else is he?

Did he mention Liam refusing improved contractual terms at all?

I thought I did too, but Bloom didn't mention it so my info must be wrong. Phew.

So bridders has rejected a new deal and therefore u started this thread to suggest he's off in jam? Bad times. To me this sums up the non stop issues and backwards steps we've made over the summer :(

Has he rejected new deal? When is the existing contract up? Deals are put in front of players and negotiated, there's no hurry and both sides will likely be playing cat and mouse in these early stages. Not sure there's anything here to suggest we're going backwards

I hope and think he'll stay, but as for "the very thought of him leaving is preposterous", that's a deluded comment

Personally I think he will stay in Jan not so sure about the summer but after this summers fun and games the Albion have shown that they will not be held to ransom and will honour contracts to the letter. This might mean any player might find it uncomfortable now if they try and force a move before the end of the contract.

Yes, but he'll be gone in the Summer but not to Sunderland as they will probably be coming to join us. Unless we of course do the remarkable and he sees the first half of next season with us in the Premiership, I need to sit down now.
