Simply Red were absolutely HUGE? Probably the biggest band in Britain in 1995, one of the few artists to have a simultaneous number one album and single with the EPIC Fairground. I think ath thast point it was estimated one in every 3.6 UK households owned a Simply Red LP, astonishing.

I won a pair of concert tickets to see them at the Brighton Centre, it was from a radio competition, so I didn't know what the prize was going to be till I won it.
Terence Trent Derby was supporting act.
I have to admit that the live show wasn't too bad and I do like 'Holding Back the Years'.
A mate of mine was a chef at the Grand Hotel at the time and had just finished his shift when the Hucknell 'entourage' appeared after the concert demanding food, he was staying there.
Apparently threw a 'do you know who I am' tantrum when told that the kitchen was closed and asked to see the chef.
My mate explained to him that everything was shut down and he was going home.
Hucknell then calmed down and explained that he hadn't eaten since lunch and it was a long time till breakfast. Having witnessed this climb down, my mate relented and knocked up a couple of cheese sandwiches for him.
I would have told him to go to the Market Diner, only 24hr food place at the time.

Over hyped claptrap considering Hucknall was supposed to be one the few that attended the first Pistols concert in Manchester he was clearly unmotivated to anything musically adventurous.
