Weller - Stanley Road
Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory
Radiohead - The Bends
Pulp - Different Class
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill

A great era!

I thought that was a nightmare I had about 1995, but I just googled them and it looks like that actually happened.

Yes but not as idiotic as Phil Lynott. " Tonight there's going to be a jailbreak somewhere in this town" . :ffsparr:
I was only saying yo Pompey Stevo in the bakery the other night when that came on Planet Rock : I reckon it will be at the jail👍

Simply Red were absolutely HUGE? Probably the biggest band in Britain in 1995, one of the few artists to have a simultaneous number one album and single with the EPIC Fairground. I think ath thast point it was estimated one in every 3.6 UK households owned a Simply Red LP, astonishing.
Level 42. Now there was a band. Proper musicianship.

Da de da de da de da. Something Something in the family.

Unforgettable lyrics

Has anyone ever met a Simply Red fan? I don't think I have.
I met John Cooper Clark once. He is simply a Salford red.

Right lads, we all start when the drum machine starts

I won a pair of concert tickets to see them at the Brighton Centre, it was from a radio competition, so I didn't know what the prize was going to be till I won it.
Terence Trent Derby was supporting act.
I have to admit that the live show wasn't too bad and I do like 'Holding Back the Years'.
A mate of mine was a chef at the Grand Hotel at the time and had just finished his shift when the Hucknell 'entourage' appeared after the concert demanding food, he was staying there.
Apparently threw a 'do you know who I am' tantrum when told that the kitchen was closed and asked to see the chef.
My mate explained to him that everything was shut down and he was going home.
Hucknell then calmed down and explained that he hadn't eaten since lunch and it was a long time till breakfast. Having witnessed this climb down, my mate relented and knocked up a couple of cheese sandwiches for him.
I would have told him to go to the Market Diner, only 24hr food place at the time.

I confess to buying their "greatest hits" CD. They really aren't generally my style but actually I did rather like some of their singles. Play it occasionally. Didn't know Hucknell was a Man U fan; never mind.

I quite liked them. There I’ve said it.
Do the Right Thing reminds me of when I met the beautiful Mrs Q.
And I did.

But did he offer them sandwiches with: "I can do you something that's simply bread?"

Brighton factually.....
I hated Simply Red and I hated Mick Hucknall, for some reason they just annoyed me, I couldn’t have told you why back then, and I couldn’t tell why now, but they still annoy me and I still can’t stand their songs.
This, a nothing bad.
Over hyped claptrap considering Hucknall was supposed to be one the few that attended the first Pistols concert in Manchester he was clearly unmotivated to anything musically adventurous.
