The smart money's on Sunak but I think Priti Patel would be popular among the readership, her policies are like a cut and paste from the Mail comments section

There are obvious reasons why these two may not reach the top spot....

After years of commuting from Brighton to the smoke a decision was taken to get Guardian Monday Times Tuesday Telegraph Wednesday and I Thursday... the order did change - not OCD. This is a great way to avoid the excesses of The DM

I'm often surprised when I see perfectly normal, friendly-looking people (often elderly women) buying the DM. How can such a lovely old lady read such hatred and bile - especially given that it's often very clearly directed against people of colour? I'm assuming that, if you read the DM, you most likely agree with their anti-immigrant, anti-BAME, stance? Or maybe you just like the horoscopes?

It makes me LAUGH when the they use CAPITAL LETTERS to add DRAMA to the story.
Its important to read a variety of newspapers and the mail is one of the papers I do read.
I don't LOVE IT but they do provide fast coverage of breaking news on the website, and the science and technology section is usually pretty handy.
Peter Hitchens also has some very good opinions and talks a lot of sense.

I'm not on the far left ???

Without the Daily Mail, there would be decidedly less hatred, division and intolerance not just in the UK but in much of the world. Therefore the world would be a better place.

Absolute nonsense - do you really think someone would bluntly follow a view just because it’s in a newspaper . Based on that , do all Iranians hate British and Americans and Israelis because their state control media publish negative stories every day about these 3 county. No because people are individuals make their own minds up . Especially nowdays with all the different types of media and social media.

Without social media there would also be less hatred, division and intolerance from all sides.

False nostalgia. I know people like that and the paper creates a false memory of what life was like, when in reality it wasn’t.

NB.... did you see today’s Sunday back page headline... encouraging the booing of the England for taking the knee!
Disgusting... ( I only read it because it was in the house , that’s my excuse)

I disagree. Their associated articles (eg page 152) support taking the knee and argue that it should be continued.
It's a silly sensationalist headline though.

No it's not.

It's a far-right magazine.

:lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol: And we have been getting on so well recently!

And there ladies and gentlemen is why Labour have become unelectable. Yes, The Mail is right of centre, yes, it is reactionary, yes, it appeals to those of maturing years. All of those statements are true......but far right??????? FFS!

The UK needs a credible opposition ASAP, but comments like that are just ridiculous.

The other great thing about the Mail is that you can get it delivered to you in Melbourne by ship and it'll still only be thirty years behind the real world, with headlines that could have been written the previous day

And you are on far left which makes it fashionable for you to slag off a publication, which I assume, you must read to have reason to slag it off in the first place.

And the world would be absolutely no different if it didn't exist. You'd just find another publication to fashionably hate.

Why do you assume people who depsise the Mail or other right wing tabloids are on the left? Because the politics of today and Boris Conservatives have gone so far to the right, all the sensible centrists, even right of centre Cameronistas are seen as lefties !

Divide and rule....

I have no strong opinions about it either one way or the other.

It’s just a newspaper

Why do you assume I based my opinion on one post? And where did I mention anybody else apart from Mustafa?
