Indeed, the Mail used to be widely ridiculed, especially if anyone used it as a source but I have noticed it appearing more on here ... now it regularly goes after Boris [emoji6]

The reason being Boris has served his purpose and now the knives are out for him. Even The Mail will highlight his shortcomings, whilst most have been since his leadership win. Dead man walking when the pro Tory press turn on a Conservative leader.
Try the Express , you will love it
Do you think the editorial of The Mail think now is the time to dislodge their beloved leader as more and more political analysts are coming to the conclusion BJ handled the pandemic poorly whilst all along questions were being raised but conclusions put on the back burner as it was seen as " not supporting the common cause of the country" at the time? Point in case being the opostion were pointing out their misgivings of the handling of the pandemic and were getting slaughtered by the Tory press for doing so.The Daily Mail has been deliberately slow on the uptake in this matter, but thankfully now even that rag is realising what many others knew a long time ago...
Joking aside, the irony is that The Mail do occasionally have relevant features, especially on the difficulties older folk face. I don't see them anymore as I won't read/click on it.
My heart does sink when I see someone with a copy of The Sun in their hand though. I mean, why ?
Folk used to tell me they read it for a 'laugh'- a pretty toxic laugh that costs a few quid a week. Should bring back the Beano for them.

I buy The Sun on a Saturday because it has 76 pages, a great TV guide and yesterday there was a Euro 2020 wallchart which I have already stuck on the kitchen wall.
It's the only day of the week where it's fantastic value. For 95p (just gone up by 10p) it usually has a free ice cream or packet of crisps offer which pays for itself. I don't take it too seriously - what else can you buy for less than a nicker these days with value for money like that?
I can’t stand any of the tabloids and that includes The Mirror.
Whether it be sports, news or politics, they’re all liars.
It’s the most popular paper in the UK for a reason.
The high percentage of simpletons?
It’s the most popular paper in the UK for a reason. Sorry it doesn’t fit the average NSC left winger leaning folk - but the comments section make great reading & enjoyment/laughter at times.
Interesting question...
Of course the primary aim of the press is to sell newspapers and that means taking a careful path somewhere between following and leading its partisan readership. The Mail has been really successful at that over the years. When it becomes 'popular' to slate Johnson then The Mail will be straight at it, no doubt. In the meantime, from what I gather (I don't read it) I get the feeling it is 'sounding out' its loyal followers and as Johnson continues to move 'like a wobbly trolley' they will abandon him. Trouble is they will probably then support an even worse character - Gove!
And Harold Shipman was just a doctor.
No it's not.
It's a far-right magazine that pretends to be a newspaper.
But most worryingly, it's one of the most read publications in the world.
The world would be a considerably better place if it didn't exist.
