Yeah, I'm another first album good, second one ok, the rest shit person.

I saw them at Glastonbury just before(or possibly just after) they released Yellow. They were decent. Also saw them at Ally Pally when they were touring the second album, they were good then too. I can imagine they are still good live if you like their whole catalogue.

Meh. Can't see anything to love or hate. Many (not all) of the haters will be like the haters of Dire Straits and The Beatles: they think they're cool by hating them.

Where did the Dire Straights thing come from, is it because of Brothers in Arms?

Good first two albums then went down the mainstream 'wallpaper' music scene. Not for me anymore. About as exciting as Ed Sheeran....:shootself

Chris Martin does not help he has a bit of the Bono about him

Really, which continent is he saving? I think Bono has Africa and Sting South America, both come across to me as self important pricks. I have never thought that about Chris Martin, he is an enthusiastic guy with self belief to me, how is that similar to Sting and Bono?

Wouldn't know any of their songs...................and am happy to keep it that way.

So you know you wouldn’t like something without even hearing it? How very open minded ……or the pinnacle of cool

Worthing
Wrote two very good albums in Parachutes and Rush of Blood and then went on a two decade long rampage of mediocrity. Completely harmless though, can’t understand the vitriol they get sometimes. Pretty much the definition of ‘meh’.

I saw them on the original parachutes tour, there must have been no more than 800 people there and he said it was the biggest gig they had headlined ! I loved that album, less so the rest, however I do think they have had an incredible career with genuine world wide success.

For me they divide opinion because Chris Martin is an eternal optimist and many people can't handle people like that, similar in a way to Paul McCartney. Particularly in the UK we cant stand people that are happy and positive, we like our celebrities to be troubled in some way, probably makes us feel better about ourselves! Positive people are meh!

I liked Rush Blood to the head. They’re ok, neither like nor dislike really. A bit meh. He can’t be really annoying. But then he’s in good company. Frontmen usually are.

He’s a bit preachy and overshares. That’s why most people find him and others like annoying. Nothing to do with being upbeat

They are like a room painted bright yellow, you like the initial burst but then everything seems to become all yellow, and to be honest a bit bland.
