Real guns. I would never even touch one, let alone fire it.

I've been on various trips where there's been the opportunity to fire live guns in firing ranges. It's always made me feel very uncomfortable.

Ha, reminds me of my one time at the school rifle range. I fired ten rounds missed the target with every one of them ... but the boy next to me had 11 holes in his target. The teacher told me not to come again.

Anyone who sees me at a rifle range would have a right to feel very uncomfortable :lolol:

I've just started a new job and the owner is religious, first thing he said to me during the interview was he absolutely will not tolerate blasphemy and no swearing either.
I find the more I try not to swear, the more sweary I become, and working in a warehouse without using foul language is something I'm really not used to.
Maybe a line I won't cross is having to make up words to replace swear words like I'm a character in Scooby-Doo.

Looking at it another way, I am religious and, before I retired, worked part-time as a driver for Waitrose.

Somebody else from the Church I go to started doing the same a bit after me - a retired policeman. I found out after a while that he had asked, through personnel, that people shouldn’t swear in his presence.

I actually thought that was fairly pathetic. It put everybody off. He would have gained a lot more respect if he had actually said this himself to his colleagues. And it’s not as if it was - or is - a sweary environment.

He had been a custody sergeant in our local police station. I’m sure he must have heard worse there.

Funny how the 'never vote for a Tory' crops up regularly, yet I'm just beginning to change my views of voting blindly for party rather than the individual.

Anyhoo, back on topic:
Never date a smoker. (I once tore up Mrs Earle's packet of More:facepalm:)
Never take drugs. (Apart from prescription and caffeine)
Never smoke a cigarette. (Tried a drinking straw as a kid and the wax burned my fingers:lolol:)
Never hit anybody. (Although once gave my son a smack and still regret it!)
Up till now, never vote Labour, but...

Whoops, edit - Never have an affair.
Oh, and never cheat at games or sport otherwise why bother playing.

To be fair, I would like to think I have never “blindly” voted not Tory. I would describe myself as a political animal, and have never in my voting lifetime experienced a Conservative Prime Minister that I would say I liked. That’s from Heath onwards.

That doesn’t mean there haven’t been Conservatives I could warm to. I didn’t like Theresa May, but she tried to do thins properly and has standards….. although she did invent the hostile environment. I did/do like very much Rory Stewart, Ken Clarke. There are plenty of others I would respect…..

It's interesting that most people have said they wouldn't cheat in a relationship - it's an absolute no-no. NSC seems to be out of line with the rest of the country as according to a 2019 survey., 75% of blokes have cheated in their relationships.

Many that have SAID they wouldn’t probably meant It, however things change when there’s a drink involved, maybe a sticky patch in the relationship, handed it on a plate etc etc however none of these situations would ever lead to me voting Tory

I'm with ozzygull on the use of the 'C' word It fascinates me as a female why people get so het up about using it when it's socially acceptable to use terms referring to male genitalia Would any of you feel bad calling someone a p**sy with a woman around? Maybe it's an age thing but I certainly wouldn't be offended if someone said the 'C' word when I was there. I think it's lost it's impact over the years in the same way that the slang word for sexual intercourse has. Someone saying ffs doesn't even register, unless one of my kids said any swear word in front of me, then I'd reach for the soap!

Lines I wouldn't cross.... cheating on my partner or stealing, anyone that does those is a 'C' word! :censored: :lolol:

To litter - I've literally never done it.

Never harm an animal - again, I never have, apart from putting creatures suffering out of their pain.

Drink & drive. Although I did when younger.

Watch Deadenders or Corrie.

Watch ManC, RealM or ManU, unless they're about to lose or it's the Albion.

Lie in the sun in the damaging hours of the day. I did plenty of this in teens/twenties, for good reason I'm careful.

Vote for a marxist, Alt-Right, pro-fox hunter or racist.

Be impolite to workers in retail, hospitality, etc.

Probably a settled demographic here. It's still an incredibly common thing, people aren't going to openly admit it.

It's weird isn't it. I've called my friends a bunch of c**ts when we've been all together & it's said with affection & laughter. I'd probably never say it to one of them in anger though? :shrug:I am fully aware that I've made myself sound as if I swear like a trooper but I don't!

I think many (younger) women have reclaimed the C-word, but many of them would still have a low opinion of a man who used it - rather akin to Black people reclaiming the N-word, but who would be offended if a white person called someone a 'N'.

Maybe I'm an old perv, but I actually find it quite, er, sexy hearing a woman using the C-word (although much depends on the context), whereas a man using the C-word usually just sounds vulgar

Yes you are right about reclaiming the term, I was trying to explain this to my horrified mum & dad the other week. :lolol: Yes from what you have said I think it does depend on the context!! In the wrong context it could be assumed that romance is well and truly dead!
