Those fries, remember in Super Size Me, he left some in a jar for ten/twelve weeks and there was not one speck of mould on them? That says something about what they awere made of/contained in itself.

According to their ingredients list

Potatoes, Partially Hydrogenated 100%
Vegetable Oil.

???

You can TASTE the carcinogens in diet coke. You can't in normal coke.

I don't drink either, but I do know out of 1,300 staff 78% voted for diet coke for the cafeteria when it was a choice between the two. Most of them are what one might call, salad dodgers.

I'd guess it was because they all suffer fat-git guilt about it. Diet coke tastes like arse. Diet anything tastes different - and worse - to the original due to the aftertaste of the sweeteners.

Diet Irn Bru tastes like totally flat normal Irn Bru, though. somewhat weird.

I try not to buy fizzy drinks but I do have them if we go out to eat and I am a Fanta fan. Some fool fobbed with off with Fanta Zero the other day and it was like drinking toilet cleaner rather than the nice fizzy orange drink I am fond of.

Some of those sweeteners are really nasty and they are starting to crop up in just about anything. Diet or not.

Are people not put off any fizzy drinks when they see that they contain Sodium Benzoate?, why people want to tip that crap down there throats is beyond me and then they let there kids drink it.

Ah Fish 'n' chips, me hearties. Now there's good eatin' on that lot. The Cap'in likes a bite o two of that little lot from time to time (obvious choice). Can't be doin' with that McDonald's filth. Artificial 'fries', cast off meat and other aberrations is food unfit for torturin' with.

Land lubbers (or blubbers in this case) can supersize off as far as the Cap'in concerned.

As a lover of food, I can proudly boast not to have set foot in one of those farce food joints for an age o two.

Ok, today i (reluctantly) went into macdonalds in churchy square to grab myself a big mac, whilst eating it a ridiculously fat bird walked in (im not talking about 'puppy fat' i mean a REAL porker) and ordered a crap load of food- i thought to myself "jesus thats not going to do you much good", i mean, do really fat people actually like being fat? she must have realised the reason she looks so horrendous is due to eating so much shit- so why go to macdonalds and add to the misery????

What's wrong with that? Fat or skinny, it’s their life so If they're enjoying themselves then so be it, they pay taxes and pay their way in life.

Was in a sandwich bar today just of Oxford street, saw this skinny (Don’t know any other way to describe her) girl ordering a salad, must of been a size 6, could see the bones. My mate said she should eat in steak house. Really got my back up. what's wrong with people today when they criticise other people for the way the look and should take a very long look in the mirror.

No one's perfect, I'm not so don't judge other people on how they look etc.

Maybe because diet coke tastes better than red coke.

I'd have to disagree there.

I love normal (red) Coke, but I cannot stand the Diet variety (nor can I stand Pepsi in any form).

On July 2nd, a new variety called 'Orange Coke' is being officially 'released' (although I think some places stock it already), which I'm not sure whether I like the sound of or not.

I saw orange coke in an independent newsagents yesterday. I like to try these things once but didn't buy a bottle because I had the little starry's in tow and I preach a fizzy drink = bad thing and hate to be a hypocrite. At least, in front of them!

Just out of interest, why do you preach that fizzy drink is a bad thing?

Corn syrup/sucralose (E955, splenda)/fructose, aspartame, bones, teeth, sleep, phosphoric acid, salt, empty calories, colourings, E211....

all sorts of reasons.

Mostly because if I don't think it's good enough for me to drink/eat I won't palm it onto my kids. We have an unlimited supply of water here and the occasional proper fruit juice (no squash and we don't have cow milk either)
