I really hope this gets over ruled and he doesn’t get to play and he gets thrown out the country . He clearly has no regard for others peoples health in this pandemic and is stupid enough to not get vaccinated. I always thought he came across as an arrogant guy .

This. The problem with creating exemptions is that you always get idiots trying to find loopholes. It's like those claiming that they can't wear face masks, give me a break!

Goes to the Federal Government now so it's not quite the end of the story.

This whole saga is incredibly political. I’m quite pleased that the cord to the guillotine has been handed back to a politician from a judge. What does the minister do next?

“Mr Hawke has served as Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs since December 2020.
He also now has the power to exercise his discretion to cancel Mr Djokovic’s visa.

Asked about Djokovic's vaccination status back in October, the Minister said players would not be able to enter the country and compete in the Australian Open unless they were fully vaccinated.” ABC

On a personal level, seeing the likes of Farage and anti-vaxxers celebrate the judge’s decision is incredibly disheartening, I hope they’ve popped their corks too early, we’ll see.

Looks like you're going to get your wish. Djokovic now ARRESTED in Melbourne and likely to be deported and banned from entering Australia for 3 years.

Personally I think seeing Farage celebrating is wonderful. A man of principle not politics, vociferous in his support for an East European circumventing a sovereign country’s border laws. What a guy!

Apparently they are going cancel the visa and deport him. They have already done that to 2 other tennis folk they let in under that exemption so it seems the most likely outcome.

Which is what this is about really. The new "us and them" thing masquerading as a deep care for society.

Apparently he could have come in unjabbed - he just needed to do a 14 day quarantine in a nice apartment with tennis court etc, at his own expense. He was offered an exemption route to avoid that hassle so took it - misled I guess, or the AUS government changed their mind. I guess he would have done the 14-day quarantine if he knew that was needed, I think all the tennis players did that last year for the AUS open?
