I doubt their employees get anywhere near the website.

I think it's just a really REALLY stupid slogan

The slogan would work better if Dixons changed their name to Croydon.

I think it's quite a good slogan as it goes.

On its own, it probably doesn't work that well but at the end of the adverts they've been running it's very clever.

The ones directed at John Lewis and Harrods are quite funny.

The fact they no longer have any high street presence also makes it less risky as nobody can actually "go" there to utter the immortal words "this is the last place I'd want to come" tittering with abundant festive glee

Not sure to be honest, I think it's a clever campaign taking advantage of the fact that more and more people are buying online and do exactly what I do...

.. go and look at something in a shop then order it over the web somewhere else.

In London at least, the way they have targeted Harrods, John Lewis and Selfridges head on has been a bit naughty and very funny. I'm sure it's caught many people's eyes on the underground.

Actually quite clever! Went right over my head.

I see the John Lewis advert omits the fact that all TV's come with a five year guarantee as standard. But of course they wouldn't highlight weaknesses!

I very briefly worked for Currys (as a Tech Guy) earlier this year. One time when I was better off being unemployed. In the face of some stiff opposition they are easily the worst organisation I have ever worked for, utterly shite.

It's really very clever but in 5 years time when the high streets are even more decimated, the finger of blame will be pointed at this sort of thing.

Ultimately, the big high street shops that have been targetted do differentiate themselves by providing a service. Compare that to the former presence of Dixons on the high street and their army of spotty student staff and early school leavers managed by fat blokes full of self importance - none of whom knew nothing about what they were selling.

It would be a great, funny, clever advert if Dixons weren't COMPLETE AND UTTER SHIT.

Spot on.
