Mum's had MS since 94, got a mobility car soon after.... as far as I know, if you're insured on the mobility car, when you use it it has to be to the benefit of the disabled person in question

Nope, there's just a cap on how many miles you do

That is morally wrong,....imo.
You don't seem to understand the scheme or how life is for the families involved. You probably understand the basic idea that a disabled child will benefit from having access to a car. But what benefit would it be to the state if that car sat on the drive, unused most of the time? Instead of being silly about it, it's better for all involved to just say that the family looking after the child can benefit from the car, because the family lost out in other ways (ie, it's harder looking after a disabled child than an able bodied child).

Presumably you don't think that families should get the DLA in cash, they should get it as vouchers to be used on kids clothes/kids meals etc. What if the family spent some of that money on something that wasn't for the kid - call the cops! Or do you think the state should just put all disabled children into care, because parents aren't the right people to look after their children? The point is, it is hard and costly looking after disabled children, and the family are the best people to do it, so the schemes help the whole family out, whether that be cash or a car.

If the link does not work just type blue badge scheme in your search engine. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. It didn't work! but as suggested I went through the search engine and the correct link is below. Very handy, cheers!
