Differences between the leagues

QPR, Brighton, Chesterfield and Crawley are each several points above the second team in their respective division and will, in all probability, remain in that position till the end of the season. Over the course of the season (so far) they have been by far the best teams.

If they should all get promoted, how do you see them performing next season? In other words, what is the difference between each league?

My thoughts are that QPR will struggle in the Premiership, and will be lucky to avoid relegation. Brighton should end up comfortably in mid-table. Chesterfield will be pushing for the play-offs or better, Crawley will be a main contender for automatic promotion. In other words, the differences between the tiers gets less the further down you go.

What does everyone else think?

I think Brighton will be top ten next season. All 3 promoted teams last year are in the top half of the Championship with two of them in the top 6.

I think if we get the 7 or 8 new players in, that have been discussed before, then we should be looking at another promotion push.

Id be bloody delighted with lower mid table and avoiding a relegation scrap whoever Gus brings in.

QPR and their moneybags might actually spend to consolidate in the prem.
We will be top 10 as people say, just look at the progession of norwich and Leicester in recent seasons
Chesterfield have a solid strike force and I think will likely finish midtable.
Crawley with their money will be pushing for promotion again next season as their results against swindon and torquay this year in the cup have shown

League One and Two are VERY similar. I'd say maybe the top 7 of League One and the bottom 7 or league two show much difference with the rest being mostly interchangable.

The gap between League One and the championship is very, very big.

The gap between the Championship and the Premiership is beyond vast.

That must be very much the exception rather than the rule - look at how we did on our previous two visits.

That said, we're different gravy this time and should be top 10 - possibly higher depending on the summer shopping.

I reckon QPR might struggle a bit in the Premiership, the Albion will probably finish lower mid-table, haven't a clue about Chesterfield. With respect to Crawley, I reckon they will start brightly and probably look nailed on for the play-offs before fading towards the end of the season, can't see them doing anything other than fairly well in a division peppered with awful teams.

I think QPR have got a chance of staying up next season, I think they'll be nearer the bottom, but with the money invested into the club, plus the money given to them from the premier league, they should have a deicent team.

I agree with all except the middle one. Promoted sides with a modicum of financial backing rarely seem to struggle in the Championship. Even Scunthorpe with their small resources managed to avoid relegation last season by a clear 5 points.

Seeing that stat it makes one think that Adkins has just been seen as a manager to get you out of the lower leagues. Will be very surprised if Cortese keeps him on, even if they do go up without the ignominy of the play-offs. I think not going up as Champions will weigh very heavily on Mr Adkins.

Considering they've just made £1m from their cup run and match against Man Utd, I find that quite difficult to believe.

The only way that will happen is if Silpa Winfield takes her money away, which seeing that she was 100% devoted to her late husband Bruce who's one single ambition was to see CTFC in the football league before he died (sad that he'll never see his dream).
I really can't see that happening.

I dont. If they have spent beyond what they get in from the gate etc, then its obviously supported by a sugar daddy of sorts. If that support goes, then so do Crawley

Utter rubbish.....

It's not his money (now her money) that controls the club.

A colleague, who was friends with Bruce tells me that all the talk is of further investment £1m + and another promotion. Living close to the club (but not in Crawley *spits in disgust at the thought*), I'd suggest that the smart money would be on promotion again next season.

And with gates averaging now over 3000 the future is very bright for Crawley who can get promoted tonight if results go there way. I think they will be installed as serious contenders next season for the title.
