Yes but it wasn't very memorable, he was well past his sell by date and it was very few games iirc

Cracking team though, assuming a scout was there to look at Bob!.
Although I can't place the goalie.

Digweed, Rust, Beeney, there's probably a couple more I can't remember but will when mentioned, and Kerr still wouldn't be one of them.

Yep for a few games in 1994. Famously though Brady left him out of a squad to travel north (Huddersfield I think) and was quoted saying ' It wasn't worth Frank travelling all this way to sit on the bench' We never saw him again.

No idea where Stapleton was living in those days. Cornwall??

I witnessed him in the late 70s score a hatrick as Arsenal beat us 4-0 (I think) in our first ever top flight game at the Goldstone. They were awsome then I can tell you.

Who would have thought that some 30+ years later, the Plymouth websites would be calling Arsenal the 'Brighton and Hove Albion of the Premiership'!

How times have changed.

Goalkeeper was on loan from Celtic at the time. As Rust was injured as was Ormerod.

Stuart Tuck was named as replacement keeper I believe. Not Andrews

I was there in the South stand for one of my first games . My overiding memory is of my uncle screaming abuse at Stapleton for being a 'f*cking poser' every time he got he ball in front of the press photographers....:lolol:...must dig out the program ...well worth a trip down memory lane even if not our finest result....

Very slow just about describes him. Sean Kerr was a revelation - how far you can actually kick a ball. Much as I have affection for Nicky Rust, Rust, Rust that was never one of his strong points!

I remember him playing for us at the Goldstone. A bit old and not so quick, but we had a lot like that back in those days.

It occurred to me I might actually have gone to that Swindon game, and till have no knowledge of Kerr.

I think it says it all really that one of the great Arsenal/Man Utd players of the late 70's/80's made so little impression when playing for a pretty poor 3rd div side.

I saw him play but can't remember much of it.

I remember him playing.

Overweight, old and very slow he was, clearly doing Brady a favour (he thought) by playing.

I also had the feeling he played at the back too.

We would have had a fantastic team if some of those mentioned above had played for us in their prime.
