Hate to say it Dick but looking at all the possibilities to whose gonna start on saturday, You've cocked up!.
Is this the sort of selection that would pull in the much needed crowds you've been talking about so much?, it reminds me of those grey days at Gillingham when all we could hope for were loans and bottom of the list free transfers.
Looking at the current team, we still haven't sorted out last seasons BIG problems- Creativity in some way or another, Width on both flanks and a worthy 3rd choice Striker to add depth, competition and force to our current attack.

It may sound harsh, but as im going to spend £25 on watching a game where I'll have to put up with players who fail to meet the proffesional football league standard of ability, Does Dick actually watch these games with any care?, Well he dosen't have to buy a ticket for a start!
Now knowing and confirming Falmer is gonna happen, why isn't he investing in players for the future if it be selling or keeping.

I smell what happened Last January, a lack of input in the starting 11 resulting in failure, AGAIN!.

Jesus H Corbett, we're not THAT bad a side "Truth". And we're still working within a fairly strict budget that means we can't just go out and splash the cash on this mythical creative midfielder thats out there somewhere, for sale, and wanting to come to play at an athletics track.

We've been unfortunate to lose McLeod through injury. We've been unlucky to lose Aniansah (or whatever his name is) through a harsh sending off. If you're spending £25 to sit there and moan for two hours, I'd rather you stay in the pub and watch Soccer Saturday or something.

I'm not too worried, I seem to remember Bozza saying on another thread that 'the truth' is a second user account for another NSC regular, so even if 'the truth' doesn't turn up to the match, I'm sure his/her other personality will.

If you study the make up up of the team it is obvious to any supporter, and DK is supposed to be a staunch supporter first and foremost, director and Chairman secondly so I am suprised that he accepts the poor performances that are being shown and the lack of obvious strengthening that is needed.

It is ok for people to counter with the fact that we have only lost once this season but we do not look like winning many games either and the statistics prove that if you keep drawing or losing as in our last 2 games we will soon be at the wrong end of the table.

2 or 3 players could put us back where we all expect to be challenging for promotion.

Although it is early days, there doesnt seem to be any improvement in the playing strength or ability of the team this season as opposed to last, so perhaps people will begin to question whether it was right to bring back MA. All of last season the backroom staff of White and Chapman were getting the blame from a large number of the supporters and the only common denominator between last season and this is Dean White so I wonder!!!

No Squad with Rust and Minton can be bad.

How can you mention the player who deteriorated into the worst keeper I've seen at the Albion in 30 years of watching them in the same post as one of only three reasons to go to Gillingham ( OGH and Rod Thomas being the other two) :nono:

Did you know Nicky Rust is only 33. What the feck happened? Didn't he get in the U21 squad at one point?

Came from Arsenal as a real prospect and was pretty good until he sustained an arm injury, came back and just got shitter and shitter until it got to the point where I think he went about 10 games without making a single decent save. ( I could of course have a very biased opinion as we were turning to absolute crap as a team at the same time)

:lol::lol::lol:

Where to start?

Well firstly, saying that Dick 'doesn't have to buy a ticket' is slightly missing the point, considering he has put more money into the club than you will do for the rest of your life. True he doesn't have to pay on a match by match basis, but I think I will forgive him that.

Secondly, although obviously he is running a business and therefore has to sell players sometimes, it seems a little unfair to blame him for things like a lcak of creativity in the squad. Surely this is the responsibility of the manager and scouting staff rather than the chairman, who, if he's doing his job properly, will only be the man to approve the transfer on a financial basis.

I don't really know what you mean by 'investing in a team for the future'. Do you mean spending millions on well established players that are capable of playing at higher levels now and in 5 years time? Clearly you expect instant results but also want a team which will be successful in the years to come. We have to accept we can't spend big money on players, so we've always made the best of mixing youth with experience. Maybe buying youth is investing in the future but we can't expect the youth players we sign to all be playing like Championship level players already!

Is he accepting these performances? Are we not aiming to strengthen? Have we not had our various scouts out and about?

'The Truth is out there' and to be honest I am not that impressed. We have made a solid start to the season and I don't think anyone is under the illusion that we are the finished article. However this baiting by Truth is already boring as he justs tries to say exactly the same thing in twenty different ways, I would like to see a creative midfielder and a striker to push the first choices all the way but every single club in this division probably feels exactly the same way. the defense is pretty solid and that is where you build a team from and the strike force is amongst the best in the division and finally Truth I dare you to say something positive about this club!!!!!!! go on prove you're not just a Negative Nelly who just loves putting the club down to make themselves look important

The answers as they appear at the moment are:
1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes.

I accept that these things take time but we have had since May to re-adjust and strengthen the side but appear to have failed miserably as those brought in have not set the world alight. Hawkins is the best by far, Livermore despite being a regular in a Championship winning side does not look to be up to the mark neither does Virgo but in fairness to both it would appear that MA & Co do not know their best positions. McLeod looks promising but appears to have taken Paul Kitsons place in the treatment room.

The players from last season, although it is reputed enjoy their time more in training, do not appear to have got any better for it.

The general standard of play is inferior and less attractive this season. Supporters will accept route 1 or partial route 1 if the results improve but it is open to debate whether or not that has happened although we have had a couple of decent wins and a first ever draw at Yeovil. The performances by which the club are judged and the fans give money to the club for a seat are the homes games and the performances there have been dismal.
