Why? . You don't know DK couldn't have taken us further. In my hypothetical world, TB would have made his investment, taken 49% of the club and DK would have remained Chairman

He who pays the piper calls the tune. TB wanted control, and with the money he invested he rightfully got it.

I'll direct you towards Portsmouth and Cardiff for examples of your suggestion.

It seems that the club its starting to forget its roots, those associated with the troubles, and those catalysts that enabled the Amex to happen. In order to reduce/remove AITC from the agenda, they have gradually "allowed" key personnel to leave and I can only see this asset that was key to us getting a community stadium being wound into the ground.
DK remains President - how long for?
I feel terribly sad that our club is going down this route and whilst I have renewed STs for next year, my heart is not totally in it.

Dear B.W thank you for taking next to know time to research your argument. However out of courtesy, I'm more than happy to, once again, correct you with regard to your misunderstandings

Hmm so I have a different opinion than you so you resort to insults. Now who did you criticise for that then?

What seems to happen here is that because I have a differen view (maybe because the leaks you have heard have given you a different insight) that I automatically have an agenda, whilst you are presenting a totally accurate and objective view. Your signature states you have a balanced opinion. Well I have criticised gus but praised his way of playing football. I have criticised the clubs PR but praised their wish to follow due process by suspending. I have praised tony bloom with no exception and defended dick knight who in many peoples eyes is Blooms rival.

I would say that was quite balanced, wouldn't you. Lets just see how balanced your pronouncements have been?

But I have praised Gus' management too. I have recognised Dick's legend status too. Why is your view balanced, and mine not? Let's agree to differ re the alleged PR 'disaster'. Ultimately, the club is moving forward. I'm happy with Oscar's appointment, so are you, I guess?

Just out of interest - what have the club done for you to provide such unquestioning loyalty ? What would have to happen before you start to challenge their decisions ?

Something like Archer and Bell-end did.

The thing is, I can't argue with much of what LB, ROSM and others are saying. In the quest to become a slick corporate money making machine the club is definitely losing somthing, and it's a shame if Dick Knight is getting pushed to the sidelines, it all seems a bit needless.

On the other hand, there are alot of people who used to be involved during the Knight era who clearly aren't going to present an objective view of things. With a new regime it is inevitable that some people's noses are going to be put out of joint, I'm sure that would be the case in any organisation.

Why then what?

TBH I can't remember! Still, I'm just happy the club are moving forward again under a new Manager... Sorry, Head Coach! Your thoughts on today's key development?

I've been in the directors lounge on a match day in our first season at the Amex, and it was noticeable that there was a big split then. Tony and the newer directors in one part, Dynham, Dick, in another part.

If I am honest though, this doesn't really bother me. The club needs to move on and get real, far too many hanger ons (Dick not included) but obviously we need to shape up. After all, it is Tony that saved us in our latest chapter, so we need to trust him. Anyone that thinks there is some agenda or conspiracy is very likely wrong. Even more so if they blame Barber.

How sad.

Bloom and Knight are both Albion legends. What a shame that they, according to that post, don't get on.

Is it though ?

Perhaps there is a clash of cultures and ambition where one understands what they want better ?

I doubt that would ever happen again but there are other scenarios which may not be right for the club.

True. But I played my part then, and would do so again. I just don't see how anyone can fail to appreciate what Tony is doing for our club. And, yes, I have criticised Tony where I thought justified, e.g. I thought he sat on the sidelines far too long before releasing his video re Gus' suspension, and said so on here some weeks ago.

And those shouting loudest, seem to be what I'd call the old boys club, who embarrassingly at times were very cliquey and 'ITK'

Have you seen anything to suggest we are going down any of those roads?

I'm keeping my eyes open and not blindly accepting everything the club says. I don't feel comfortable with the changes to Albion In The Community especially when the planning permission for the stadium was for the Community work as much as for the football. Perhaps if you read the previous 195 posts you may get a feel of it.
