I fail to see the point in asking DK to step down.

If the supporters think he is doing such a bad job that he should be asked, then what exactly has he done wrong?

He brought us back to Brighton

He negotiated with the council to give us land at Falmer for a stadium

He negotiated to get rid of ecovert

He brought in managers we wouldnt have got anywhere near in the past

Micky Adams
Stevie Coppel
Peter Taylor
Mark McGhee

He persuaded the likes of Norman Cooke and The Blooms to invest in the club with absolutely no assets to back their investment.

He has overseen promotions, back to back Championships ( REMEMBER THEM OH YEA OF SHORT MEMORIES), relegations accepted. A play off final at Cardiff!!!!

He has overseen the club playing in the second tier of the national league on crowds of 6000 with no monies for investment.

He accepted the calls of supporters, and spent money on ground improvements to 9000 spectators when that money was not available. Now the same people who whinged they could not get tickets dont go anyway! There is another excuse - Oh the football is shit.....what will be the next excuse? Oh the grass is too green?

Now because we are not having the best of seasons, the club is on its arse, people ( a lot of who do not even go these days) are demanding he goes......well there is one for gratitude

Do people really think the current management have not been out and about trying to get players in? If they havent what about this Arsenal lad, Bowditch, Whing?...they didnt just phone up and say can I come to Brighton!

I am not happy with the crap we are being served up as football , however I do not for 1 minute believe it is Dick Knghts Fault. In fact I would go 1 step further and say its actaully in spite of his efforts we are where we are.

If we had had money and the Falmer application had not gone the way it is, then there would have been no reason for Coppell to have gone, sidwell to have gone, Ingmarrson to have gone, Zamora to have gone......you see. Its not DK's fault

Good post -

out of intrest have withdean ever been full enough to actually have needed these extra seats?

If not then these so called supporters have cost the club a few quid into the bargain.

I am not Dk favourite admirer but agree with most that DTG says so stick with him until Falmer is given the go ahead and then let him re-appraise the financial situation himself, and make his decision accordingly.

AS i said have we ever needed these new seats that have been provided at a no doubt expensive cost?

With all the talk of us being a massive club that will average 15,000 + at Falmer could anybody have envisaged that our crowds would fall so drastically and the extra seats not be needed.

Even with Falmer we'd only be getting around 8k in our current position. Massive club your having a laugh.

Yes.

As FAR AS WE KNOW Mr.Knight has done extremely well by the Albion.

No supporter is truly aware of the difficulties (or otherwise) of running a league football club in conference south settings.

I did not agree with the sacking of Mr McGhee, and believe that to have been a kneejerk reaction to the overimbibed gobbies at the Bristol City game.I did not agree with the reward Steve Gritt got either,or any of the internal managerial selections for manager.

Of course, other managerial appointments have been excellent, but excellent managers are hard to retain for a hard up club, but in other circumstances I'm quite sure the club would have been able to retain them.

But managers generally come and go.It's a short step from "So and so,so and so's Blue and White Army" to "So and so out,so and so out".

Similarly with players. They have a short professional career, and they know it.The dream is to play at the highest possible level,in the best possible conditions.

These are not currently on offer at Brighton and Hove Albion, and will not be until the stadium issue is resolved.

My belief is that Mr Knight is doing his damnedest to get THAT issue sorted asap, though of course we all know about bungled letters, and the machinations of Lewes District Council.

Will the Albion go down this season? The threat is very real, and getting known players to sign will be difficult for all the reasons we know. It's why players may be willing to come on loan,to get some games,to get fit,to get IN somewhere, though not necessarily with the Albion.

Players have little allegiance to their club, which is why the development of local,Albion supporting players is vital.Which is another reason why Mr Knight is doing a good job, even if it is being forced on him by financial circumstances.

Oh,it's a rant,isn't it?

Support the club, join the Seagulls Party even if you do only send a few useful quid for the cause.

Never give up! Never surrender!!

At the time the club applied for the new seats just about everyone on here was saying 'get on with it' - in the eyes of some the club just can't win.

I've always stated that even with Falmer we would still only get around 8k per game in this position, quite where people think the missing thousands will come from is beyond me - since 87 when i've been watching the albion crowds have generally average at no higher than 9k even the season we made the playoffs at wembley.

Yes, weren't you at the games last season? ??? We have never sold out all the new capacity but we many times exceeded the old one.

I just couldn't recall the exact attendances as to wether we could have fitted everyone in the normal pre extra seat capacity.

All the DK Out people fail to see what happens the day after - we can't get players to come to The Withdean so who in their right mind would want to take over from DK; and what has he done so badly that warrants endless discussion?

We are in a position no football club has been in for as long a time, our push for Falmer profile is as high as can be expected for a 3rd Div club (ie. bloody high), he doesn't spout unsustainable rubbish about funds...

It'd be a disaster if it all gets too much for him and he walks away.

In my opinion.

I think people have to ask WHO, in their right mind, wants to take over from DK? I can't exactly see queues of suitors with chequebooks in their hands!!!
