It appears that since I left it has become a Burberry equivalent, which is a crying shame.

I think it really went downhill when KFC introduced it as the dessert in their Megabucket meal deal.

Like you say it was considered a treat 20 years ago, I remember them bringing out a caramel one with biscuit pieces in that was tip top.

Having never bought a KFC I did not know this. It's still better than bread though

I just remember the adverts with a healthy looking family sharing one of these buckets which seemed to consist of about 20 battered chicken wings, baked beans, loads of fries, coleslaw (mainly just mayo), a bottle of Coke and a whole Viennetta.

I'm not sure the family advertising it could be considered typical KFC consumers.
