Poor form before Xmas didnt help, a win tomorrow will bump numbers up a fair bit as train isnt that expensive and it isnt a great distance either.

How have derby been recently ? If they havent been on form, then it would affect their numbers too.

Who are we playing tomorrow?

What is the obsession with tickets and how many are sold ? We are in the middle of a recession and austerity cuts and people have more important things to spend their money on than football matches

this, if they get a 1000 that's a good effort

Wasn't so long ago we were getting 5000 and couldn't even give our tickets away for free so we haven't really got room to boast or gloat

Who is boasting/gloating

I definatly take your point about our attendances & how far we have come in such a short space of time.
I found it amusing on Saturday at half time when mike small was interviewed I'm sure a large portion of the crowd didn't even know who he was

Precisely! I remember Johnstone's Paint Trophy games at Withdean were you could have an entire row to yourself if you wanted to. Now all of a sudden we have a sparkly new stadium and we're selling ONLY 21k tickets for FA Cup games with Newcastle! And we're upset. What a change.

I see thay have only been offered 1292 tickets by us in the first instance, seems a low number to me.

As of Tuesday they had sold 914

Reported on another thread (started by the Shoreham based Deby fan) that they had sold 1k as of 6pm yesterday.

Didn't Forest bring 2k? They get similar home gates, have similar catchment areas. January effect?

Plenty of home tickets available including a cut price one in WSU - PM me for details.

Morning all, Rams fan in peace. I noticed the queries about our away following and I'm sure some of the factors already mentioned are relevant - being able to pay on the day would probably encourage a few more to come because some fans can't plan in advance due to work, family stuff and so on - but I think a big factor in the relatively poor numbers is down to our piss-poor away record since relegation in 2008. Many fans have just got fed up of poor away performances and results and our general struggles in the past few seasons haven't helped either. We generally haven't played badly away this season, but the results haven't reflected that and we've had problems scoring on the road. It will take a period of gradual improvement to change the situation I reckon.

Anyhow, I'm paying my first visit to the Amex on Saturday and am looking forward to seeing the stadium, which has looked impressive when I've seen it on TV games. I never went to the Withdean, but remember the Goldstone from the 1980's (although the last time I was there, it snowed/sleeted which wasn't great when stood on the open away terrace!). I'm expecting a tough game and would be very happy with a draw from this. I suspect the result will hinge on whether you take your chances and/or whether we can manage to defend properly for 90 minutes. Both teams seem to be coming into a bit of form however, so it's a tough one to call. Either way, let's hope it's a good game.

Have a good day out, it's a cracking stadium & City. Part of your ticket price covers local transport in quite a wide area. No good if you are coming down on a special coach or have bought a train ticket straight through to Falmer but should you be driving then you can park up & use local transport for free.

If you don't fancy drinking in Brighton then Lewes is very near, parking is easier and it's just 5 mins on the (free) train. Lewes is a small town with loads of pubs!

If you are able then hang around for 30/60 mins after the game and have a pie/beer or two and avoid the queues. You are also able to visit other concourses and drink with the home fans and this policy has not seen any trouble at all from real fans (The likes of Millwall, Leeds, Palace etc are still in the dark ages).

Finally, having enjoyed our hospitality I hope you are able to travel home and refect on what a good team we have and our not too bitter about getting beat....well, that's the plan!

Don't worry, we've won more away than at home this year. Probably be a 0-0 draw like it was at your place.
