That is true, he was relieved, but he also went on to say that it is days like this that every footballer lives for.

Exactly.
Before today, they had lost their 6 previous league games, won once in their last 15 league games and taken 7 points in that time. They should be hanging their heads in shame. Wycombe, with nothing like Derby's resource, nearly survived, taking 20 points from their last 11 matches. That would have been the real romantic story. They showed all the battling qualities that Derby and Massive failed to display.
That was a nervous, disjointed, poor quality display from both teams and neither really deserved to stay up.
