They punished Macclesfield last season after the final games had taken place, sending them down and keeping Stevenage up.

Yes on the basis that the appeal has reported (coincidentally and definitely not to avoid massive litigation) after the final game of this season.

If they authorities have to shaft either Derby or Wycombe, they'll shaft Wycombe

Wycombe were promoted from 8th in the table last season. They didn't complain about the clubs above them being shafted so I'm not sure how valid their arguments would be.

Personally, I think Derby's inevitable punishment should be for next season to protect sporting integrity. But I won't lose any sleep over them being relegated this season and making League 1 one hell of a quagmire. What a nightmare division now with so many Championship level clubs battling it out. That is shaping up to be one of the most competitive divisions in football over the next few years. A lot of money is going to spent on getting absolutely nowhere, by Sunderland.
