You're gonna have to wait to find out as we'll have a clear idea at the end of the season. Nobody knows how things are gonna pan out so nobody is right or wrong...yet.

I think we are moving forward but could yet be proved wrong.

Would we all be calling it a step BACKWARDS if Hart & Mayo had back in May been given 1-year contracts at much reduced wages, in addition to the signings of Livermore, Richards, McLeod, possibly more and the appointment of Micky Adams?

No. It might have been a signing people disagreed with, but not a reflection of the direction of the club.

Adams, clearly the board, and a lot of Albion fans (though some might have sub-1000 post counts on nsc and so don't count) didn't agree with them being released in the first place, and this is effectively just saying that they never really were.

Bob Booker, Adam Virgo, Micky Adams, Kerry Mayo, Gary Hart...

The future is BRIGHT.

Not sure if you're on a wind-up here, but how can you include Virgo in that? I know some people say 'never go back etc etc', but can you really call the signing of a player who has drawn a £1.5 million transfer fee, played several games for Celtic and played the last 3 years at a higher level than us a step backwards JUST because 3 years ago he played for us?

If he had gone from someone else in League 1/Championship to Celtic 3 years ago, no-one would question the signing.

Quite frankly if you can't see the progress we have made since this time last year you are quite clearly f*cking deluded

I can see the progress we made under Wilkins last season.

I just don't see how we have moved forward since getting rid of him and replacing him with Adams.

How can getting rid of a talented young manager be seeing the bigger picture?[/QUOTE

Without knowing the full background you can't be sure it wasn't the right move though, only time will tell and that time is not now. I say that as someone who was well pissed off with DW's sacking and not that enamoured with MA's return.

Play another record he has gone move on.

In addition to the youth talent DW brought through we have added quality players with experience of playing above this division so yes we are stronger in that department this year.

I am not suggesting MA is the messiah but really can't see him doing any worse than Wilkins and at least there is a bit of buzz about the albion again something that would not be in place if Wilkins was still at the helm

Add to that the off field stadium progress and its easy to see why Dick and the fans are feeling a tad optimistic about the future

Don't let that stop you moaning though!!

We have moved forward as we now have strength in depth.

We also have proven championship players on permanent contracts rather than offcasts with no experience on loan.

We have a proven man manger with the ability to command respect from the players and fans.

How many more do u want ?

Even if Richie is going for a reaction, it is still a fair question.

The argument for Adams is that he is a proven success here, and more experienced than Wilkins for the challenges ahead. He originally left to go to a bigger club, and was a man very much on the up, so you couldn't begrudge him especially after the promotion and new team he gave us.

So why am I left with the uncomfortable feeling that his return, and our being able to attract him back, says a lot more about how his own career has hit the buffers than about us as an emerging force.

Increased season ticket sales as well. There is a definite air of OPTIMISM around the club at the moment. Course some people would LOVE us to do shit so they can come on here, nod sagely and say "I told you so......"
