Not the real one
That's just stupid. I like Saunders, his interview after the game told the truth, maybe that's what the owners didn't like.

By the way we should never have sold him for 60grand. 2 years later he was worth 2million.

20 points in 20 games says it all really. Although he did well with Donny. If they had allowed him to get rid of the overpaid dead wood he may have turned it around.

I don't mind the attitude of looking at the bigger picture, but it's a fine line between making that point and giving the impression that you're not all that bothered.

I never saw it as 'not bothered'; more along the lines of "If you don't want me here, sod you, I'll go." It boils down to pride and he wants to feel Brighton should be grateful to have him as much as he is grateful to have Brighton. When I've spoken to him it really comes across how much he cares what the fans think, and the thing that has most upset him is the early days when pockets of fans gave the team grief for the patient passing style, which he takes full responsibility for, and therefore, is very emotive about.

I think it is more the frustration of the players not doing what he has been training them to do, rather than not being bothered. Thankfully, this is not something that has been evident this year so far!

Phil Neville would be an excellent choice.

yet another manager who the press seem to have a high opinion for as he's good for a soundbite but whose results say distinctly below average and where fans get irate listening to excuse after excuse - League 1 material at absolute best!

Suspect Appleton will be on their radar and a potentially good fit - good coach but something of a ****

He's going back to Donny isn't he. Get sacked for getting relegation and join a promoted side.

What an extremely depressing story.

1. Wolves are NOT a joke club, they've got good fans, a rich history. It just so happens the owners are clueless. If you sell your best players and don't replace them at all what do you expect?
2. Saunders should have stayed at Doncaster and got them promoted. Managers are crazy - we've seen this ourselves with Mickey Adams and Peter Taylor. See the job through, you idiots.
3. Mick McCarthy's doing a decent job at Ipswich.
