A lot of what he says is actually contradictory. Saying that he is lucky to have the squad he has but also implying that he is not being backed is the finest example.

I guess it's just heat of the moment stuff, he clearly wears his heart on his sleeve. It just doesn't sit well with me, if things in my professional life don't go to plan I'd always publicly support my peers and superiors even if they've contributed to my failings. The difficult conversations should always be conducted in private IMO

Yes. I used to put this down to his roller coaster emotions, but after a while I get confused.

I fully realise that but that wasn’t my original point. My point was where is the evidence that Fati and Dahoud were down to RDZ. You’ve provided no answer or evidence for that at all. If we were that good at recruitment we’d not let a new manager just bring his players in.

I think the difference is that the real gamechangers - the players that can beat people - are either injured or not yet fully fit. With them, we don’t end up knocking the ball about endlessly looking for a gap. They create the gaps.

Without them, it makes no sense to leave the defence so exposed - but we do it anyway. Repeatedly.

We’re lucky to have so many of those exciting attacking players - and unlucky they’ve all been out at once.

Wouldn’t it be nice though, to have a manager that can adapt and change it, rather than blindly, predictably play together same way week after week.

I can't understand why people - apparently including De Zerbi - can't get their head round why that might be.

We truly have been spoilt if we genuinely think we can pull a rabbit out of a hat, turn water into wine and feed the 5000 every single time.

What comes next will be different. The fan base and the managers have to accept that because its patently obvious to Bloom and Barber. WBG DID replace one of those players. Baleba IS a replacement for another. The fact that one isn't immediately being headhunted by a title challenger and the other isn't going to be the next most expensive midfielder on earth isn't automatocally a failure or the absence of being backed.
