Heated front screens are a joy. Sit back, listen to the radio and let the car do it for you!

Exactly. Takes about 20 seconds to clear my windscreen. All you peasants need to buy a proper car. Scraping the windscreen is soooo school car run in the 1980s.

Isnt that really bad for the car to start it and leave it idle though

:thud:
no, its the absolute best thing you can do. starting and driving off striaght away means theres no/little oil in the top of the engine where all the valves are, engine parts haven't expanded so leak oil and the cool oil doesnt do its job as specified anyway.

I finf pissing over it does the trick. Luke warm and you do not have to back in to the house (antibacterial hand wash in the car)

I have a big problem with the inside of my windscreen getting icy / condensation. Anyone know any way to prevent this?

You've got water in your car - either dry all your shoes boots before you get in - or you've got a leak somewhere - rubber seal? cloth convertible? old classic (like me) with holes in the floors?

It's a 03 plate, isn't convertable and I haven't noticed any leaks or dampness. I did have the windscreen replaced and I think I've only really noticed it after then, so I'm guessing that it might be something to do with that.

It's doesn;t help that the rag I have just smears the screen :(

Maybe the windscreen seal hasn't been put in properly. If you get some Rainex for the windscreen that should help - but it'll only help - not cure - till you find the leak.

(Edited to add the rainex for the inside of your window not the outside - although thats good too)

Agree completely, but make sure you get heated seats, they are seriously :smokin: in this weather

I don't bother. I know where the road goes - roughly, so I just beep my horn and flash my lights to let people know I'm coming. Eventually the window clears itself and I can see where I am.
