Keep going mate, its always hard to get going with this sort of thing but when you get into a routine it will become more of a habit than a chore.

Before you know it you will be looking good and feeling great!!!

On the food front, having a treat every now and then isnt a bad thing, as long as its in moderation. Infact it can be a good thing because it can become very boring and mundane eating boring healthy food all the time.

Keep going mate

eat often , eat small , eat breakfast , eat healthy, eat complex carbs (wholemeal rice , pasta , bread) instead of the white variety. cut out saturated fats, dairy , red meat . watch your alcohol intake. exercise in the morning on an empty stomach, get into something healthy (im into cycling at the moment) have a goal (london to brighton bike ride for me next year). i do this during the week and then let it go on the weekend, we all need our burgers and beer now and then. but make it a lifestyle change not a 'diet'

good luck mate

well done mate, and congrats on 22nd. biggest difficulty for me at present is having been off work 5 months with chest/lung problems. i walk to town most days but its friggin hard work. am gutted not to be playing cricket this season too, but will do best i can. being stuck at home is a sure way of getting the nibbles

I haven't been working now for 18 months. It's been a roller coaster ride but have lost 5.5 stone.I hardly do much activities now but i'm very carefull what i eat.I don't really drink but will certainly have a few tomorrow at Crawley rugby club watching Brighton.
Next is quitting the fags.

You need to get the activity levels up - I know that it's not easy with your medical issues, but if you PM me with an email addy I can send you a fairly gentle 45 days programme that you can ramp up or down as you need. It's used to get people up to military fitness levels in a graduated way and you can work harder or easier at it as you feel. It doesn't need any gym time and apart from the walking which you seem to have worked out already, you can do it all in a space 6 feet long and 3 feet wide! Once you get into it, you can add gym time or weights if you want, but it's designed to be tweaked as you want it.

I have for obvious health reasons (Heart problems) to lose a heck of a lot of weight. I weigh 336 pounds (24st-2lb)! My aim in 2010 is to lose 6 stone at a manageable 7 pound a month. That will get me down to 18 stone. Once achieved I would like to get to 16 stone for the first Falmer game. As the usual Slimming clubs are a bit pricey for me, I will bore NSC with occasional updates and you have my permission to give me grief any time:smile:
not that permission is needed for that of course.
I am determined to do this.

Just thought i would update my lack of progress! well not strictly true but was a roller-coaster till about three weeks ago. Health issues have been a real hindrance due to limited opportunity to exercise though i do try walking most days. But 10 days ago i chanced upon this site Login
and love it, totally free and very supportive. have eased into diet almost without a craving! though my exercise is still limited this time I am really going for the 100 lb loss, with no unrealistic target date. I weighed in today and have lost 9 pound.

finally kick started weight loss. been going 4 weeks and total lost to date is 18 pounds. improved health means able to walk more for exercise and seems to all be going well. have set a few short term targets for 20/30/40 pound losses and am on course i really hope for the big 100 lost by Falmer. thanks for PM's received.

June update

Pleased to say I have now lost 25lb and hence am a Quarter of the way to target. never thought saying "only 75 pound to lose" would sound good lol! This month is nearly up and after a very slow start with pedometer, where i could hardly hit 5000 steps in May I have managed to average 10,500 a day. thanks to all for your support. Great to progress from very obese to just obese
