Well said. I hope he stays, but he's clearly done a terrific job for us, so if he wants to leave, fair enough

Not having Ashworth back though. I'm a little unclear on the structure of this part of the club, but I wonder if Gordon Greer would be in the mix
I think too soon for Greer. Personally, if Weir does go, I would have Ashworth back.

Mike Cave is the assistant technical director, so assume he's in place if Weir departs. Although, pretty sure Cave was in charge of recruitment after Jewell left, so there would definitely be a gap to fill.

I can see the appeal, but he might be better off waiting for the next real manager to be appointed. Moysey won't last long and when he goes, so will his team.

Moyes, providing Everton stay up, has at least until the end of next season.

Weir also wouldn't be part of Moyes' backroom staff and would likely be in charge of appointing that next manager.

Surely it makes more sense for Everton to go for Ashworth, who despite chasing the £ is actually very good at his job.

Weir would come with either massive compensation payment to us which Everton might not be able to easily afford if they still have PSR worries.

There may also be a long gardening leave period while the compensation is negotiated which means a delay in starting the job which Everton again may want to avoid especially if they want new processes etc up and running in time for the summer window and the move to the new stadium.

Oh come off it, it's so obvious why they changed. They had to swap Dyche and his i'd rather stick pins in my eyes football for Moyes, who will play, i'd rather stick pins in my eyes football 👀
I find the whole thing hilarious. WHU fans hound Moyes out because the football is crap (despite them actually winning something), Everton fans hound Dyche out because the football is crap.......so Everton replace Dyche with Moyes.

So, in the end, Everton might improbably win something, while West Ham fans settle for learning a bit of history :lolol:

For Dyche surely it's more that the football was 'realistic' given the players he has at his disposal both at Everton and Burnley., not forgetting he got the latter into Europe.
