Talk in Glasgow suggests that Rangers will soon be looking for a Director Of Football. Their number one target - David Weir.

He obviously has very strong links to that club, but he’d be foolish to move now wouldn’t he?
I thought those links to Rangers were severely strained if not broken a few years ago when he and the rest of the management team were announced to have resigned with immediate effect, only for them to release a statement saying the complete opposite

Rumours that he's been approached by Everton's new owners to be their Sporting Director.

Clickbait

Would make sense, especially with Moyes back as manager.

Would be an attractive move for him now I would think - new owners with money and optimism, shiny new stadium, manager he knows well and emotional ties.

No problem for us - we’ll just get Ashworth back hopefully.

Is it a fact that the richest 10% pay in region of 80% of total tax income
That's not correct. According to the government's pages

Others taxes, such as VAT are at a flat rate for everyone. The top 10% have more purchasing power, but there are significantly more of the other 90%.

In 2014/15, an average household in the top 10% paid nearly £38,000 in taxes. As a group, they contributed about 27% of all taxes paid.

David Weir would be in the top 1%.

Not sure he'd want to risk the good thing he's got going at the Albion

Are you serious wanting Cashworth the Gardner back?
Surely this is joke I’m not in on

We could always go the whole hog and sign Maupay from Everton in part exchange, poach Potter and all wear face masks on the train for the next six months.

Some on here are very harsh about key Albion staff even being linked with other clubs. There are all sorts of reasons why people might want to do that: a bigger club, more money, a new challenge, or just because they might feel a change is right for them at the time. IF Weir does leave, and at the moment we just don't know, then he should go with our best wishes after doing a very good job.

Won’t be relevant to any decision he makes but his daughter is on Everton’s books (currently out with an ACL rupture)

I just wish Tony Bloom and Paul Barber would stop recruiting and promoting people who are good at their jobs.

If they did the sensible thing and recruit mediocrities instead then we wouldn’t have to worry about staff being headhunted, and, Hey Presto, problem solved!

Attractive? Moyes is a dinosaur when it comes to football. Brighton seems way more attractive.

Moyes seems a strange move for Everton imho.

Well said. I hope he stays, but he's clearly done a terrific job for us, so if he wants to leave, fair enough

Not having Ashworth back though. I'm a little unclear on the structure of this part of the club, but I wonder if Gordon Greer would be in the mix
