The more of this stuff I see the more I wonder if he has been targeted by dodgy folk like betting syndicates. It all seems to have come out in such a way that feels like he has refused to do something after being blackmailed. Maybe i am miles wide of the mark. It just feels like maybe because he won’t be corrupt his life is being ruined.

A mate of mine who’s a plumber got work on a hotel down St James Street way a few years back. The entire basement was being set up with dozens of showers and sinks and once installed it was being tiled floor to ceiling.

The fella who ran the hotel said after hosting a “party weekend” he wanted to be able to hose the space the space clean.

We reasoned that was understandable as it’s surely easier to hose everything down than sweeping up the voul-au-vent crumbs and spilt sherry trifle.

Someone clearly has a vendetta. Part 1 was the Klipperty C-bomb, Part 2 he ran the line. Perhaps Part 3 will enlighten folk as to why this stuff is being dripped into the media every few days.

The more I think about it the more I agree. We could be looking at a flawed human who preferred being found out to corrupting a game of football.

Needs to be a lot more focus on the original grass IMO.

It does seem like people are trying to make excuses for the fella.
We probably all have a manager/customer/client we don’t like yet have to take the shit they give you because either your company expects it or they pay you a shit ton of money over the year.

Dodgy people involved or not it's hard not to feel a little empathy for a fella making a stupid mistake.

I guess some people are lucky or smart enough to never get themselves into tough situations and/or do something stupid. Given the choice I'll take empathy every time.

Exceptionally harsh. No one is making excuses for him but, and personally, I do feel sorry for him with the way this is now playing out. He hasn’t killed or hurt anyone and the only victim is himself.

My lad now works with this guy it’s the only reason I knew about it what he went through to get the right result was horrific. He was getting it from both angles the syndicate and his team mates.

Not quite true. There was a huge scandal in the 60’s. Some big names ruined their careers over it.
