He might turn out ok. He’ll have a book to write, the tour with a live show ‘exposing the truth about the game’, blah blah. Maybe even I’m a Celebrity if he turns out to have a bit of personality. I’m sure his agent will be on it already.

Bad judgement for sure…..and I’d be very concerned for his mental health right now
Maybe, but maybe not. I don't know anything about the guy, but just because he said and did stuff that he probably (maybe) regrets, it doesn't mean he'll have MH issues. He could just be an arrogant berk who hates Klopp and likes coke - and he's fine with that.

He might just disappear for a while, possibly ref in another league or, if not, he'll pay the price for his mistakes. I'm sure there are people much worse off than him and dealing with a lot of things that AREN'T self-inflicted.

He could, of course, be struggling time and this was all a cry for help. Who knows?!

Referees have agents now?

I’m guessing so, yes. At the top level anyway. Some certainly do public appearances, speak at dinners etc. Usually these things are booked via an agent. Might be wrong but I bet some have agents. And if Coote didn’t have one, I suspect he has now!

Odd post. I'm wondering if you've misunderstood the point the poster was making. He was merely stating he hopes the guy is doing ok MH wise from this. We've seen some pretty horrible examples of people at the centre of a media storm not coping well in recent times

He's going to lose his job, will be hounded by the press and will surely be feeling pretty horrendous he's thrown away his career through some silly actions.

Not sure why someone hoping he is ok mentally, during what's going to be a really horrible time (whether that's self inflicted or not),is something to be picked up on.

Coote is a fool, but someone is being very vindictive.
The interesting thing about this is that before this I found him probably the most dislikable EPL ref and yet he’s probably turned out to be the most fragile and vulnerable.

Originally I thought he’d been stitched up by one grass who got lucky on an “afters”. Looks a lot more sinister now.
