I’d say it is possible to both not like someone and also be impartial, if he is a professional then that is what I would expect.

Surely this is really quite obvious? He shouldn’t be sacked for not being impartial but I do think he should be disciplined for allowing himself to be video’s calling Klop a ****

Gotta feel sorry for these now as all these types of birds will most likely be hounded out and barred and blacklisted from Liverpool like everything else the locals have a grievance with. I bet the local duck ponds and lakes are being scoured by the scousers as we speak. #prayforthecootes

Of course it is, but what you don't do is broadcast or allow others to record and potentially broadcast, your views on clubs and figures in the game!!!

He's thrown away his career by being a bellend.

Coote isn’t the first referee to find himself in trouble over comments made. Bobby Madley was dismissed by the PGMOL for disparaging remarks about a disabled person.

There was also a rumour about him having sex with a dog, but this proved to be unfounded, IIRC.

I often read the ratetheref forum after games and controversial incidents to see their take on it. I flippantly call it sucktheref to myself (how I laugh) because in probably 95% of instances they seem to side with the on field referee.
It appears to be made up of current and ex referees of various levels.
The interesting thing I have picked up about David Coote is that he does not seem to have a lot of respect with his peers who feel he was fast tracked undeservedly due to some kind of connections.

Funny how they're digging out all the decisions Coote has been involved in that went against Liverpool.

Bet none of them have studied the match reports to find all the moments when his involvement went in their favour.

This is all ridiculous anyway (notwithstanding the stupidity of somebody allowing themselves to be filmed in that position): every single referee out there will have opinions on clubs and managers. They'll all chat away, guaranteed, at their ref seminars: which coach is a moaner, which one is a snide, which players dive a lot. Coote is entitled to an opinion like anybody else and if his perception was that Klopp was arrogant, I have no issue with that whatesoever. He probably thinks Pep is a whiney bastard too, and Jason Tindall is an attention seeking pain in the arse, just like we all do. His only mistake appears to have been verbalising that in front of an untested audience.
The Guardian have picked out fors and againsts: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...o-jurgen-klopp-liverpool-pgmol-premier-league

Still raking over that Pickford foul on van Dijk though. He was offside. Let it go.
