Dear Cllr Bellotti

I am writing in response to your personal profile on the Bath Council website.

I would like to advise you of an apparent clerical error in your resume. From personal recollection, you spent a period of time in the 1990s as Chief Executive of Brighton & Hove Albion football club, under the Chairmanship of Bill Archer. You seem to have omitted this, I am sure, by accident. Rest assured, Cllr Bellotti, that your spell in the Albion hotseat was particularly memorable for many thousands of people, if not yourself. Should you be in need of a little memory refreshment with regard to this apparent gap in your CV, I, and many other people, would be only too glad to catch up with you at some point, in order to fill in those little blanks!

I trust that this omission was merely a clerical error by one of your council minions, and that you, as a politician, are in no way attempting to gloss over a murky period in your past in an attempt to suck up to the Bath electorate. After all, Dave, you do seem very keen to stress your love for "Association Football", and I know that wouldn't in any way be to do with your desire to present yourself as a sporty all-rounder to the voters of Bath. I look forward to seeing the profile updated appropriately in due course.

If you'd like to discuss this further, feel free to pop back to Brighton any time for a friendly chat, particularly on a Saturday afternoon. Alternatively, you can email me on bellotti.out@westillhateyouafteralltheseyears.co.uk

:clap:Excellent stuff Edna.

My rage hasn't dimmed. Punching his face wouldn't sort it though; i'd have to go way more extreme.

This line makes me wonder if all the Lib Dem angst against the club has something to do with the fact he was a fellow councillor........

'and a member of Lewes Town Council and Lewes District Council'

I didn't know that about him. Thought he was East Sussex Councillor and Eastbourne MP

You're right Uncle Buck we did wave to him as he was escorted from the train at Bridgend but we may or may not have held a reception for him at Cardiff about an hour later.

We were on the train behind, the one the police put him on.

Had a long chat with him from Bridgend to London. He did move rather quickly down the platform at Paddington.

No need to resort to insults now.

Just send him pictures like this

and tell him wher he can stick his self professed "love of association football"

which is here

I'm sure a certain ex-landlord must have related the story. If he hasn't ask he to clear his throat before he tells you

why do you think LDC have given us so much grief. If Bellotti had never been involved with the club and therefore not received the justified vitriol he did get, I bet you LDC would not have raised murmur about Falmer let alone oppose it every step of the way.

And would you believe it, Bath rugby club are in a bitter dispute involving the local BANES council which could see them leaving their beautiful city centre home of over 140 years (the Recreation Ground) and heading to Swindon or Bristol. Clearly just coincidence mind. What's the betting a Toys R Us will be on the site in a decade....

The Rec isn't owned by Bath RFC, it's an open space for use by everyone - Somerset CCC play (or at least used to play) matches there, the hockey club play there, as well as it being used by a number of other groups. It (the Rec) is a charity and, as such, the consent of the Charity Commission is needed for the club to play there.

The council can't do anything with the area without the consent of the Charity Commission and in fact landed themselves in hot water for extending Bath RFCs lease without the necessary consent a few years back. Bath will have to leave the Rec because it's 5,000 under the capacity requirements for the Premiership and the Charity Commission won't let them build there to meet the requirements.

Odious as Belotti is, you can't really blame this one on him or Bath council.
