Darren Currie was simply magnificent today.

Currie is the best taker of a corner I have ever seen in following the Albion for 30 years. He may not be the quickest guy on the park but is certainly the most skillful by miles. If he had lightning speed he would be playing in the premiership.

He is also building up a great rapport with the crowd and had a few bits of banter with H & J block this afternoon.

He took his goal very well and is the most exciting player in the team. Everytime we get the ball I feel like standing up and shouting, give it to Currie, and I haven't felt this excited about a player since Zamora left.

The only mystery is why on earth did Wycombe let him go ?.

9 out of 10 and man of the match again.

The one blip being his poor backpass. But agree with everything else. I was actually thinking during the game about all those threads on here at the start of the season having a go at him because he wasn't as good as Hart.

I, to my acute embarrassment described him after a game at the start of the season and useless, overweight, very slow and an alledged professional footballer !.

:shootself  :nono: :dunce: .

When he was at Barnet, many so called bigger clubs were looking at him. Then for a few years, he went off the boil. After a shakey start, he's really proved his value. He's very David Beckham in his style of play. He looked good again today. His only dodgy spell was after he nearly gifted a goal with a bad backpass. It appeared to affect his confidence for a few minutes. Mark McGee commented about picking up other clubs "mistakes" rather than their "cast offs" on free transfers. Darren Curie at present is certainly one of the former.

His bad back pass is the only thing that prevented a 10.

He seems to have more time on the ball than anyone else, but saying that he was a bit nonchalant a couple of times towards the end.

You're too young to remember Kit Napier then.

He nearly scored 4 times in the first half all from corners. Infact one hit the crossbar !.

I think that knackered is probably a better description.

And against his uncle's old team, the one who turned him down too. It's great to watch him play, who would have thought a non-dribbling winger could be so effective? What a signing. Only a 1 year + 1 contract though, need to get that sorted before long surely.
