His shot stopping is good but he should have commanded his box more yesterday. Only a small criticism because he kept us in the game at times, but with an inexperienced back four he could have helped them out by coming out a bit more. He also has a habit of kicking the ball to the other side of the pitch to which our players are standing.

Top saves though. Two great games in a row.

Currie has been a revelation - huge respect to MM for finding him and showing faith and courage in him when, frankly, Currie looked awful in pre-season. As did Hammond.

I think this says more about MM - who would have thought we would have Dean Hammond, Nicholas, Currie et al pulling the strings in midfield? Just shows what a good coach can do without shed loads of £££

Currie was interviewed on SCR after the game, and he came out with some interesting points. He was saying how there was a problem with gelling at the start of the season, but its really come together now.

Have to say I totally agree. His hair was all over the place at Reading, but just lately there's been far more pattern and cohesion to his style, and the team are really seeing the benefit now.

Currie was "worth the entrance fee alone" yesterday. The best crosser of the ball and skill since Clive Walker played for us in the early 90's.

Yes but he has a much better head of hair than Clive Walker so he is more the overall package.

I think you guys are being a bit severe on Johnny Goodchild: he scored 10 league goals in the 1961-62 season; 7 in 1962-63; 14 in 1963-1964; and 10 in the promotion year of 1964-1965. It's not a bad record -- and he was a decent guy who was always ready to sign autographs for the kids.

I've been watching the Albion only since 1963: the only Scottish international I can recall in that time was David Wood who played at Youth International level for Scotland in 1992. But my memory is pretty feeble nowadays, so I might be wrong. :drink:

No way was Johnny Goodchilds hair as good as Curries though. He's got highlights and EVERYTHING.

Its definetly Kit Napier when it comes to the corners and I think he may snatch the silliest haircut of all time as well.He had a Afro style frizz long before it became trendy. Scored a hatful of goals for the Albion from both the centre forward role and the right wing. Mind you he could jump a tackle in his day every bit as good as Paul Brooker.

Sad to see that even the boy Virgo had succumbed to the lure of the blonde highlights on Saturday. Charlie Oatway must be feeling left out. Maybe he could just paint his skull yellow

His haircut is legendary. His perfectly groomed coifure must dazzle the defenders. His barnet is still in perfect order even after 90 minutes of football.
