Iwasn't wrong about him as I thought he had some ability about him, even if he wasn't match fit.

A fitter Currie will be a real asset.

What's happened to OGH though? He was schocking when he came on.

Agree with Baz, thought he was rubbish again today as did everyone around me. Couldn't believe the plaudits on SCR. He just looks so unfit and that's why he slows the game down. But that's football - all about opinions

He was alot better than he was against Plymouth, but as they say,one swallow doesnt make a summer!!

Needs to do it every game now in my eyes!

And yes, I thought the pick of the bunch was Nicolas again yesterday

I must say I think some people have gone ridiculously over the top with their praise for Currie. He had 2 shocking games and a reasonable game yesterday.

They already have him down now as our midfield saviour, but in my book he's not fit to tie Carpenters boot laces.

Strongly disgaree Gareth. I cannot ever recall seeing Chippy spray as many good quality passes around the pitch as Currie did yesterday. Just wait until Currie is fully fit. He could well prove to be the signing of the season.

A fair few of thos spectacular 50 yards cross field passes went into touch !. Also he cocked up about 4 corners and miscontrolled a ball in the penalty area that went for a goal kick.

GG, are you on prozac yet ? If your not then you probably should be. I will admit that I haven't been to any games yet (Wigwam on Saturday is my first of the season), and I do agree that one swallow doesn't make a summer. BUT we do need players that have a go at the spectacular... It is what we have missed going forward, relying on Jones and OGH etc is not good enough at this level. If Currie could hit a sixpence from 50 yards everytime he would be playing for Real Madrid, not us. Therefore IMO , let him make some mistakes, because the more he tries, a greater number of chances will be created...

I agree - much better yesterday - his passing is much better than just about anyone else's. Hopefully if he can work on his movement a bit more I think he will be a decent addition to the squad.

He did yesterday what he was expected to do. It doesn't alter the fact that he was shit in the first two games. So no apology required - just a sense of relief that we have an idea of what he is capable of.

Actually, why is Currie not fully fit?

IF he can put his foot on the ball, trap a fast or high ball dead and spray passes up to 50 yards he will get shit from the Withdean faithfull everytime one of the passes doesn't work. Unless of course he runs around like a headless chicken diving in. It's what we've been brought up on at the Albion and although everyone has been crying out for a playmaker it's not really what we want. Getting stuck in is much more important:dunce:

Spot on. Agree entirely. More headless chickens please. Beats skill and quality anytime.

On NSC for over two decades...
What is most encouraging about Currie's performance yesterday is that when he gets the ball into feet and under control he doesn't get cheaply tackled. His passing for the most part is positive, however this needs to be backed up with a higher level of fitness - which I suspect is why he hasn't been substituted.

Not Lewes
We need to consider that this is also his first ever season at this level, and at 29 the pace of the game is going to be something that he needs to adapt to, but he showed signs yesterday that it is starting to come without a doubt.

With the fact that we didn't really test ourselves in the pre-season friendlies we had, I always had the feeling that it would take 3 - 4 games to get used to this level, and the level of performance yesterday suggested that we are starting to find our feet a little
