Darren Currie - An Apology?

Anyone care to admit they may have been wrong about the silly haired one?

(Said smugly as someone who said we should give him a chance!)

I thought he was superb today, in fact just the type of creative player we have been longing for.

Go get em Dazza:clap:

I thought he was dreadful when I first saw him at Stevenage. But I made the classic NSC mistake when judging a player, judging him for what he CAN'T do rather than for what he CAN do. Charlie gets the same treatment.

From Cambridge onwards you could see Currie's strengths emerging, the willingness to take possession and responsibility, the clever feet, the deft passes. Today you actually saw something else, movement and workrate, from the opening minutes when he put his head on the end of a cross, to the closing minute when he was driving at the defence and won a soft free kick. A free kick which turned out to be rather important.

Yup, I'll own up. Thought he was poor for the first two games, but today he was class. Hope today is the real Darren Currie.

I thought he was very good today, miles better than Plymouth, lets hope he keeps it up.

He had a good game, so bloody what !. He is a professional player, aledgedly, so its not unreasinable to expect he can string a few passes together. What the big fuss.

He did enough today to warrant another couple of games.

You are making out he is the new Zinadane Zidane.

football is all about 'now'.

currie was shit yesterday, 'now' he is great.

i wasnt at the game but if he played as well as reported then im very pleased but it just goes to show how fickle football is.

i hope he does well, but how about we all hold judgement untill he has had a chance to get a few games under his belt?????

Sorry but I thought he was very poor today. Total lack of effort and if Gary Hart had been in place of him, he may well of prevented the goal.

Currie does not assist in defence because he is too slow to get back and he doesn't offer a great deal up front either. Bring back OGH.

On NSC for over two decades...
I thought Currie really pulled our strings today, the Albion were feeding him the ball to feet much more, which suits his style of play. We had seen hints of what he is capable of in the previous games, but I think today was the first glimpse of what he is really about. Let's see if he keeps it up. I'm quite looking forward to seeing him play with Chippie because he'll see more balls into his feet.

I said he was crap on Tuesday, but he played well today, I think on Tuesday we were so poor which meant he didn't get enough of the ball. But I do think he is still a bit slow and is often a bit slow at releasing the ball when he recieves it, but his long passes are very good, and he can use both feet.

Much more encouraging from Currie. His range of passing is varied and imaginative. It will be interesting to see what happens when the front players get on his wavelength and start to anticipate them better.

I thought Currie looked very classy today. If he continues to turn in displays like that he'll be my player of the season. Well done that man.

He looks far from match fit. Ponderous in fact. There were a few mutterings from where I was sat that how come Currie always gets kept on when Jarrett and Molango always get taken off. Suspect the praise might not have been so gushing if Virgo hadn't got us out of jail again. I thought Nicolas was more impressive than Currie.

Still doesn't look fit but oh my i'll have to admit his long range passing is bloody fantastic, why haven't we seen it in the last two games? Keep it up Darren.
