He is crap. One paced and talentless. Avoid !

People like you make me laugh.......

He scored 7 more goals than CMS last season, what does that make him if Henderson is crap?!?!?!

He would be reasonably cheap I guess as he has only got one year left on his contract AND he is due in court on Monday for a trial management hearing following a charge of assault without intent to cause harm after he threw a punch in a restaurant bust-up last Christmas. Carries a maximum 5 year sentence and whilst he isn't going to get that, he almost certainly won't walk away if found guilty.

Certainly capable of playing the "murray role" and with a fair bit more attitude but he has been horrendously injury prone over the last 5 years so a big risk on two counts at least and maybe three..... rumours of a mega fallout with Kenny Jackett behind the scenes over his attitude?

Last time he was here, he got dropped for Chris Mcphee who for all I know is flogging 2nd hand cars right now. If he is to come here I am uninspired on that basis but as BG says, he must have improved signifcantly.

Chris McPhee didn't score 15 goals in the Championship last season. You can't judge him on what he did last time he was here (when I thought he actually looked very useful).

Henderson was INJURED the entire time he was with us - he needed a hernia op. We offered to let him go back to Reading for treatment, but he wanted to stay and play.

but he may have sold 15 2nd hand cars...

We had so many loan strikers in that era. Gifton Noel Williams, Iwelumo, Trevor Benjamin and they all looked better than Henderson. As I said, Henderson must have improved but from what I saw of him when he was here I'm frankly staggered that he is a proven Championship level striker

A big strong target man who scores goals at this level to a much better rate than your Sam Vokes and Billy Painters of this world. A guy with premiership expiereince who is by no means past it at 30 on the back of a 15 goal return with a poor Millwall team and In my opinion would proberly be affordable, YES PLEASE!

I'm not sure what people are expecting, is this Owen and Heskey stuff actually in people's heads for real and it's made people think we can get anyone we want, 15 goals last term speaks for itself doesnt it.

The only concern I would have and this will be the case with any striker that we sign is that, would our style suit him, were hardly a lob it in the box kind of team....sometimes I wish we were more that way on occassion but down to scoring potential alone, i'd take him like a shot.

I think we'd still be one short up top and would like a player of the Adam Le Fondre, Simeon Jackson, Simon Cox ilk to come in aswell to be fair.

Quite agree. if we are going for it, we need better. (I never thought i would be saying this say 5 years ago)

Gus has said all along that he has a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for each position he is looking to try and bring in. Quite rightly, we will be speaking to all these people so that if Plan A doesn't work out, we can move quickly for Plan B or C.

I doubt Henderson is our number one striker target but he's certainly a good back-up option.

It seems that we are covering all our bases so we at least have options if we miss out on our first target.

Exactly the right way to be doing it IMHO.

Sorry to keep on but would sooner go for Lee Barnard same type of player but IMHO better.

Of course, I'm sure he'd be desparate to sign for us, after all, he only has a visit to the Premier League Champions to look forward to on the first game of the season.

Do you or indeed him honestly think he will be in the line up for that match and it is also rumoured that CPFC are after him at £800k.
