Up there with Leon Best in terms of shocking strikers in the Amex era for me. The fact we are paying him over £70k a week possibly makes him even worse. How on earth are Tau or Zeqiri not getting on the pitch ahead of him? At least they both seem like he can be arsed to run about a bit.

He started off ok but has been poor since he came back from injury.

And switched off for their 2nd tonight and should of taken out the Palace player when at 1-1 before they scored

I remember that, first game of the season, v Sheffield Wednesday, lost 1-0, thought it was going to be a long season!!

Or at least put In a challenge rather than just escorting Townsend the length of the pitch. The guy couldn’t give two shits and happy to just take his huge salary.

TBH indicative of our failing recruitment that he was the only forward we could actually bring in of any note (Zeqiri is one for the future)

No time for him to be honest. He hasn’t said anything good about us, didn’t want to talk beyond this season with us,

Was shite for Watford. I don’t think he cares about our club much. Give Tau a chance, or give young Zequiri a game instead. We have no future with a Danny Welbeck IMO.

Welbeck was unfortunately a signing that almost looked inevitable at the time. We failed to sign someone in the transfer window, the fans were annoyed with that & he was without a club so the stars aligned for it to happen. It was him or nobody. Even though it was well below the quality of signing we wanted we had to just go with it. But he has generally been a bit rubbish & done no better than Zeqiri or Connolly would have with his minutes.

Just to go against tide here, I actually don’t think either Welbeck or Zeqiri have been given a decent chance. 20 minutes here and there just isn’t long enough.

Maupay should have been rested weeks ago, and although he set up the goal yesterday once again he offered next to nothing in the box. Yes I know the offside goal, but it was offside.....

Wasn't impressed at all when we signed him.

A massive waste of wages and a squad place, but at least he's kept his best mate Adam company in the treatment room [emoji849]
