Danny is a quality player, but even without him as things stand we are ok.

Though now we have a huge liability on something happening to Maupay and/or Connolly and/or Trossard.

The trouble with the false 9 (ie sticking midfielders up front) suggestion in this thread is that they are all crap at finishing.

We cocked this up in the summer. We're at least one player light up front. Striker is a specialist position.

Bad news. Weird how there’s reports of Bissouma training and playing when I was told by about 6 posters on NSC we won’t see him for a while [emoji38]
Not charged ( yet? ) and in theory this limbo can go on for quite some time yet. So  who knows what's happening with him.

Was the point I was making - but NSC posters - lots of them - assured me there’s no chance we’ll see him for a month and he’ll be suspended etc

In the, unlikely imo, event that we do let him play it would be a really bad idea in away games whilst this is ongoing. Can you imagine the stick that he is going to get?

Little to nothing - most people don’t know and it’s a nothing story at present really - nobody charged etc. Trust me - it’s only our fans who have blown this up at present.

Whether we cocked it up or not is largely immaterial now, and we have to go with what we've got until January at least.

Are these a recurrence of injuries he has had throughout his career ? We took a chance with him and it is not working out.

Only reason his agent probably advised him to come to us eh? Nice town to chill for his client, nice soft touch nice guy club to work for in that soft slow slide into retirement. Well it was either that or relocate to China

I must have missed him playing. Where was that?

Did you miss the definition of the word ‘reports’ too? Points already proven (if you were one of the know-all assumptions ones which I’m assuming you were judging by your reaction to my post) as many said he would be suspended etc. Again, think location and Dr Pepper - and don’t assume completely because that charge (which hasn’t been made) covers a very broad spectrum.

I might give him the evening off if we had Palace away as they're the ones creaming themselves over this, but that's done now. I agree, I don't think it's huge national news otherwise. A few may know, but if his head is right, I say play him at Carrow Road.

If he's charged, that changes the situation

Entirely predictable. Thats now 3.5 months of the season ahead heavily relying on Maupay not getting crocked and/or suspended - and thats IF we get someone in January (which I very much doubt).

We'd better hope for a decent spread of goals this season, or we'll be very much looking over our shoulders once again before long.

Yeh exactly - whether he plays Saturday isn’t the be all and end all - if he’s in the squad it’s the main thing - played well last game without him. I just think many (respectable posters) were so sure and naive telling us all we won’t be seeing him for a month - when we already have as he’s been training all week ffs!

As for Palace (2010 bouncers) - they seem to have an obsession with trying to make us have a law breaking ‘offender’ when the truth is, they are just trying to find something out of nothing as they have nothing to beat us with - and they have Neil Shipperly.

Think he's been a brilliant signing for us so far.

Scored some important and quality goals. Played in more than half of our games last season and never really had a bad performance.

Also good for our younger players to be around and learn from.

Hopefully we're not paying him silly money to be in the treatment room - but something tells me the club is more responsible than that.

Agreed - Welbs has been a good signing. It’s worked out better than I / many expected and he’s been class and fit more than I thought. This is annoying but a set back not to judge his whole time on for me…

Never been a doubt in my mind, we are a different proposition with him anchoring our midfield.

Yes, it is a shame - one less option for team selection. We are short of out-and-out strikers, but when we're playing three at the back, with wing backs, it's more a question of playing three attacking players up front - and we;ve got the likes of Trossard, March and Richards who can play in that system - pretty sure Moder and Mac Allister would be more than capable there too.
Welbeck's injury is not good news - but it's not the end of the world either.

We can of course play anyone we like up front but if the past is anything to go by they won't score goals and they will miss lots of chances!

There are 12 league games until the transfer window opens.

And if we have a striker signed and sealed on the 1st Jan all ready for Goodison, then I will eat my own face.

In fact, I'll take that same bet for the last game of Jan on the 22nd at Leicester.
