Legally Ashworth (ie United) could buy out his notice period if they wanted to.Down to Newcastle as to whether they’ll accept a comp package to release early. I expect they won’t . They hardly need the money!

@NUFCFansOnTwitter way aye. Amazing work by oor Queen Mandy like. Ashworth was personally responsible for identifying and signing every good player that Brighton ever signed, like. Howay the lads, etc
@UnitedFansOnTwitter Fantastic. Sir Jim means business, ar kid. Ashworth is a recruitment genius with a database of every player in the world. He knows every player's stats and everything about their background. He's personally responsible for creating the England DNA, getting Brighton from League Two to the Europa League, building their new stadium along the way on his days off, and fixing Newcastle. COYR
@NUFCFansOnTwitter who care's if Ashworth leaves. What's he achieved at the Toon anyway? Where were his famous background checks when he signed us a player about to be banned for 18 months for betting and that? Why are we still relying on Dan fookin Burn, like? Howay the lads.
Most corporate high flyerseek say similar usually because they want to dodge the negative outcomes of their build it quick, no foundations , new enterprise .I think there's a lot of misunderstanding around the role that Ashworth does.
There's a really good interview that I can't find, possibly on Talksport, where he says his skill is in being somewhere at the start of a project and putting in place a structure. Once that structure is in and working there's not much for him and he wants to move onto the next thing.
That's his own appraisal, so maybe it's just the bollocks he says to justify himself moving to a bigger club for more money, but if you take him at face value it does make some sense when you look at his career.
Reading the twitter / X reaction to all this is amusingly predictable.
Ashworth dumps the Albion to grasp the Saudi blood money:
Ashworth dumps the Toon, for the Ineos dollar:
If you are referring to Pedro Newcastle came very close to signing him and then thankfully for us Isak came available.Fans of other teams are starting to realise it's more than simply the individual.
We've signed one of the most exciting forwards in the league without Ashworth and have just signed one of the most highly rated young players in world football.
The only person we need to worry about leaving is Bloom.
Aye but that also highlights another major factor. When it comes to signing players there's a hell of a lot out there. If you are referring to Pedro Newcastle came very close to signing him and then thankfully for us Isak came available.
Agreed. I think going after Ashworth shows that he has realised the problems there run deeper than just changing the manager every 2 years and hoping it solves the problem.Having said that, Ratcliffe feels far more Bloom than Boehly. I expect them to be back to being a real force in a couple of seasons. Ashworth isn't the messiah, he needs good people around him as much as anyone, but it feels like Ratcliffe is the sort of guy to realise that and get it right.
if then and what ....uh ...??If you are referring to Pedro Newcastle came very close to signing him and then thankfully for us Isak came available.
Brailsford is pretty smart too.Having said that, Ratcliffe feels far more Bloom than Boehly. I expect them to be back to being a real force in a couple of seasons. Wouldn’t Newcastle have to agree to this though?Legally Ashworth (ie United) could buy out his notice period if they wanted to.
The data itself isn’t unique to us. Everyone has access to similar data. It’s how we interpret and analyse that data that is important.I wouldn't be surprised if Ashworth didn't have a look at Lee Dykes at Brentford after all they've been using that same performance metrics that we have, haven't they
Not sure how they got hold of them though!!
The only person we need to worry about leaving is Bloom.

he’s just a naughty little boy!Having said that, Ratcliffe feels far more Bloom than Boehly. I expect them to be back to being a real force in a couple of seasons.
