Surely back in the day BPC (Before Personal Computers), MPs just had a Razzle rolled up in their brief case.
Did this ever happen

its dodgy, an HR matter really. the denial is probably worse than the offense. and, maybe overlooked, the breach of confidence from the copper reporting it.
Seems like a witch-hunt over minor stuff really.
So, what are people upset about?
1. He’s been using the internet to do non work stuff? Er, yes, like most people do.
2. He’s been viewing porn? Wow, hold the from page. He has a sexual appetite and likes a bit of porn.
So, only those who have not done either should be able to say he should be sacked. I don’t go for all this “They should be setting standards” crap.
BTW, as a politician, he really doesn’t inspire me. But then again, looking across all political parities, not many do. Maybe they’re always been a bad choice overall and it’s only nastalgia when we look back and think they were principled. They probably werrn’t, but the level of scrutiny was much lower then and more deference to those in authority.
You're missing the point - on his work computer!!!
I have worked for several organisations where this would be instant dismissal, I don't see why a politician should be any different.

If true he's damn stupid - he must be aware that pretty much everything accessed via computer is traceable
No I’m not. I get it. The point I’m making the the indignation of so many based on doing stuff which most people have done.
Namely :
1. Using the internet in work time for non work activity.
And
2. Looking at porn.
His crime (assuming it is true and not malicious lies from the sacked copper), is for doing them both together.
As I said in my original post, he doesn’t inspire confidence that he’s a great politician so I don’t really give a shit about him either way.
I think I just find the hypocrisy about porn astounding. Lots of people do it (look at porn), but it becomes heinous it it’s done at work. That’s my point. And yes I do get out that most companies would sack someone for doing that.
I’ve met Damian Green a couple of times as we have mutual friends and I have to say that he doesn’t seem the type to do something as risky as viewing porn on a computer in the Houses of Parliament, of all the possible work places. He is guilty of being a Reading fan, but that’s his upbringing, so shouldn’t be held against him. Being a Tory, however, is rather harder to forgo e.

What about the other allegations though
He didn't associate with known terrorists representing an organisation responsible for killing men women and children did he? ( ... and trying to kill members of our democratically elected government?) Allegedly viewing legal porn or being a terrorist sympathiser/apologist, I wonder which of these should be a resigning matter in a society with any real values or decency.
Clearly there is more than one w@nker in this thread...
At last, a thread where pastafarian could demonstrate his undoubted expertise and he's only noticeable by his absence
