Started listening, but mt eyes literally started glazing over after 30 seconds due to the dullness of the chap asking the questions.

Who the hell was that? ???

Yes completely this! Who was that muppet? The worst questions ever! At one point even Hughton starts asking himself questions as the interviewer is doing such a bad job. He was like a posh public school boy thrown in front of CH &DS with a handful of scrunched up notes and told to conduct an interview. I notice Naylor isn't asking any questions this season. Strange. The interview with Stephens is just awful, like you I had to stop watching!

Do you say that with authority or is it just your opinion?

It's no secret that Dale wants to head back up North. Why wait until the end of his current contract when the club will not get a penny? Cash in whilst he's worth something and bring in young Clough. It's all about opinions though and I value yours

Why wait til the end of his current contract? Because he is a big player and helping us get to the prem. Why on earth would you sell him? For pennies in comparison to the premier league riches? Risk upsetting the squad. It's daft. Thankfully Bloom knows it.

He said that when he was at Charlton, and then joined us. In fact, it's believed now, that his wife is happy down here.

What isn't in dispute, is that he wants to play in the Premier League, which may or may not be with us.

Sure that's more the point. He's desperate to play PL football while he can. I'm sure the added money Burnley would of been offering would also of helped. It's not so much about location anymore

Surely you know why. If not, it's because he could help us get promoted.

Someone tell him to get a nice place in Mid Sussex. That's north enough :jester:

I just assume he means Arundel or as it says on the 'welcome to' sign:-

Argus says contract talks on hold to concentrate on the hectic run of games

I'm not sure any talks have or will be taking place. Dale wants out.

I might be in the minority but I hope the club have a suitable replacement lined up and we cash in come January.

No no no. I go there to ask the gaffer and the boys questions. And also to have occasional 'bants' with Johnny and Andy.

But I do sometimes set out the chairs.

have you asked the "gaffer and the boys" about the pulsating red light?

Can't see Burnley improving their next-to-nothing-up-front offer so figure he will stay and if we get promoted he will talk about a new contract (or not). A move in January seems less likely though and the way he is playing that needn't be an issue for us.

Dale wants PL football but for now is focused on the club and promotion.

He may have felt differently in August, but that ship has sailed and it's senseless for him to join a struggling PL team now when he will have more options, involving a higher signing on fee, if he sees out his contract. Especially when you consider the club he is currently playing for has a strong chance of promotion. I'm also fairly sure I know which he would choose if we get promoted and offer the same contract as Burnley (assuming they stay up).

Let's just get promoted and give him a decision to make.

Que Sera Sera.

But he stays in January unless stratospheric silly money is offered.

The word up here is that we're getting Stephens for £2 million and you're signing Barton until the end of the season, on wages of £50,000 a week.

If anyone wants to call me a liar then I can be in Brighton (or Hove) within 9 hours to sort it out, depending on my Ford Anglia.

If either one of them is true, I will eat my own testicles (without salt & pepper) - Absolutely no chance
